We went in September and it was great. It is what is considered "shoulder" season. Not summer and not fall. The weather was cool, but no crowds at "tourist areas". That is where we were 9/11. |

Where in Scandinavia? Denmark is best at from mid-July to mid August.
There are lots of mosquitoes in the forests of Sweden and Finland during the summer. |

Definitely June... More sunshine, less rain, long days (I mean really really long)... I miss Norway, now. |

If you want to see the Northern Lights then over the winter months. I went in April and there was still masses of snow in the hills of Oslo without it being below freezing, but during the summer months, the days are amazingly long and you won't freeze. |

Deffinately the summer.
Do not go in the winter, I work in Finland every so often in the winter and it is sooo cold and horrible, even the locals just go and hibernate. |

During the summer the weather is fine, but the specific beauty of Scandinavia can be seen better in winter. And who knows? Maybe you'll meet Santa Claus?!? |

I have been at all times of the year to Norway and it depends what you are looking for really. They have great summers and the winters are really bad inland but if you are on the coast then the snow does not lie for too long. |

Summer is really better. But be aware where you are going. Otherwise you might end up where nights are not dark anymore - if you are very far north. |
