When I was at university I had long(ish) hair, down to my shoulders. It was dark and almost straight. But unfortunately we didn't have the fashion to tie it in a pony tail :((( Now I have greying short hair. I still want to grow a pony tail.
As for ladies, it actually depends on her whole appearance. Some look good with short, some with long hair. I personally prefer long hair on women.

it depends on the face, some guys look good with long hair. and some girls look good with short. i like saved heads on guys, its sexy! and long hair on girls is good to pull!

On whom? On guys, I prefer the shortest possible haircut.

I like very short hair on girls, like the Halle Berry hair, but hubby doesn't. So, I have a longer version of short hair now. And it is light brown.
