This is ridiculous. Of course we are not direct descendents of the Ancient Greeks. Geographically, Greece has been throught many conquerors (Romans, Turks etc) and I find it really ordinary for some mixtures to have existed. But how can they say stuff like this: "As long as the Greek State denies our existence as Macedonians with rights and privileges, we will continue to publish these types of articles."

I laughed so hard when I saw this FYROM propaganda-documentary on the news, about how God created the "Macedonian People" as his Special People. Again: So ridiculous.

No Greek claims that modern Greeks are DIRECT descendants of ancient Greeks.
There have been mixes, Slavs invaded the region, Arvanites also came, Franks and Italians also settled here, etc. It is impossible for a population to remain unaltered, and it is the culture that counts - unless you are Hitler.
The question is, how is it possible that after Slavic invasions, Albanian migration, Ottoman occupation, etc., another "ethnicity" claims to have remained pure "Macedonians", especially since they are totally Slavicised in terms of language, religion, and culture?
