In my opinion, i think it depends on the girl and the conditions and traditions she was brought up with. .. simple as that! .. i know alot of girls that go out with foreigners, and i know alot of girls that prefer foreigners more than the standard turkish guy. .. though i could see why your confused, Istanbul could be very open but in some parts their as traditional as the west part of the country so like i said it depends on the girls back round.

Its just like anywhere else, you can date 'em if you can charm 'em. According to the law of the land, Turkey, as a 'secular democracy' (hehe) has no official legislation on premarital sex. Over 18 is legal for all your naughty needs. Whether their male relatives agree with that or not is another question... In Istanbul you should have lots of girls who will want to meet you but if you want my advice I would tread carefully, and make sure you know a girl, and know about her family before you establish any kind of relationship with her. For example, if her father is a xenophobic army officer with a big gun and a short temper, best to steer clear...

I lived in Ankara for 18 months, and I dated lots of Turkish girls. I even ended up engaged to one! Im a white Brit, in my late 20s, and it wasnt a problem. I even dated/fooled around with a few daughters of senior police officers/military officers hehe. A friend of mine(another white Brit) is now married to the daughter of a senior jandarma officer, and he gets on fine with the family. I think it really depends on the family, though to be honest if you are dating a girl she probably wont tell her family anyway, thats the way ladies are forced to behave in Turkey when they want to spend time with a man they arent married to. They have to sneak around like schoolgirls, they dont want their families to know cause then the tracking/phonecalling can start. This happens even when they are in their 20s and 30s sometimes!

Are you white? Cause if you are black or asian it will be a WHOLE lot harder for to date Turkish girls....

If you want my advice, dont bother with Turkish girls, if you are looking for bed antics its like being back in highschool again with most of them, it takes a lot of work. In 18 months I think I slept/fooled around with 10 or so, but i had to try hard and you have to put up with so many games. If you are looking for something more serious then I would really caution you....Even the seemingly coolest girls harbor fascist-nationalist and/or quasi-religious notions which will frustrate and annoy you. I met a really cool girl, gorgeous too, but in the end she wanted to live in Turkey and I didnt, what could I you do? Its the same story with most of the ones you'll meet.

By the way, Turkey is nice to live in for an experience for 1-2 yrs, nice food, friendly people, nice weather, but if u are a liberal westerner then I think all the various blends of nationalism-islamism and ataturk worship/repression of free speech etc will get on your nerves after a while....

We have tens of thousands of foreign brides and foreign grooms (less in number) married to locals.

my english teacher was english christian and was married to turkish muslim girl so there isn't a barrier in dating turkish girl unless she is very religious and comes from very religious family but a very religious girl won't date with anyone, anyway. and some of my friends from another country dates( french, danish) with turkish girls, its like in europe premarital sex is okey no laws against it

whatever nationality you are, you're still a girl so any girls no matter nationality....unless your transgender or something then i dont think it would matter.

In islam, a girl is only allowed to marry a non-muslim if he converts, and society isn't really like European (dating etc.)... but it depends on the girls' family. Some Turks are less traditional than others.
