You can go to Lemessos, it is really wonderful, and Larnaca, but in Aghia Napa and Protaras, the most touristic places..
In Cyprus there are so many things to see, and people are so friendly..The food is cheap, adn the hospitality great, you ll really be amazed..
Go also to Pafos, to see the baths of Venus, and enjoy the nature.
Dont forget to go to the mountain of Troodos too...
Have a nice holiday in Cyprus... |

If you don't want the fish and chip crowd and real Cypriot hospitality, come to the unspoilt part of the island to Polis/Latchi. We have some great beaches (not all sand but a mix of pebbles/sand), great fish restaurants and there is a good choice of bars without the lager lout brigade.
If you're into the outdoors there is also lots of walking/cycling/watersports to do.

Hi, I am going to Cyprus in September, i have stayed all over the island, (not the northern side, i wouldn't go there) my favourite is Protaras, but not in the centre of Protaras another little place just outside called Pernera, i stay just outside Pernera in a hotel that is out of the way but there is a bus service that will take you to the touristy areas if you decide you would like to see the nightlife. I usually drive as they drive on the same side of the road as in UK. Limassol is a lovely place, and Larnaca is great for shopping. Wherever you decide to go have a great holiday............... |

You ask for a place with "CYPROT" atmosphere. If you really mean CYP-ROT atmosphere, then go to Ledra Street Nicosia - stay at The Ledra Palace Hotel. That really is CYP-ROT atmosphere.
Howeever, if you want CYPRIOT atmosphere (which I assume you do), the go to AKROTIRI - you are away from the ROT and the Terrible Tourists. Lovely beaches - wooded walks, lots of typical Cyrpiot Restaurants at reasonable prices. Try a few Roadside Cafes - they are clean and very good snacks. There are buses and taxis to Troodos Mountains, Limassol and Kykko Monastry (a must). Get a brochure from The Akrotiri Beach Hotel - it is full of Local Info. Better than a guide. Sorry to go on a bit - but I was in Cyprus in the Army for 7 years - loved it. Have been back several times. You will love it also.
To sum up....... Nicosia for CYPROT. Akrotiri for CYPRIOT. |

Do try North Cyprus or you'll be missing out on some great beaches, local restaurants serving really tasty food, and as much Cypriot atmosphere as you could wish for! For romantic dinners, you can't beat the Venetian harbour-side here in Kyrenia, or for amazing views, head to a restaurant in the Five Finger Mountains. Yes, we have the ex-pat hangouts if you need a fix of football, but the local places are welcoming, friendly and great value for money. Our sandy beaches are generally uncrowded, (except for nesting sea turtles) the scuba diving ideal for beginners, and
the prices about a third lower than in the south. See below for two web sites to help you on your way! |

hey :) .. its a difficult choice, while southern Cyprus has the best beaches in the Mediterranean its also the most commercialised, Ayia Napa especially, is awash with drunken english eating "english food". Coral Bay has wonderful coast line but not much "culture" hmmmm .. i think you should read http://www.indigoguide.com/cyprus/north-cyprus.htm use the drop down menu to read the pros and cons of each resort then you can make your own decision. I'am sure you will have a great holiday regardless of your location, Cyprus is a charming island with lots to offer.
Enjoy your holiday! |
