We officially changed over to the Euro on 1st January this year, but banks will still exchange any old Cypriot pounds and cents up until the end of June....but you will only be able to use the Euro in shops etc.

used to be the cypriot pound but is now the euro. that is assuming you dont mean northern cyprus where as far as i know its still the turkish lira.

Cyprus have now accepted the Euro - their original currencey was the Cypriot pound.

Ma'am, this used to be the Cypriot Pound (but the Turkish Lira in the Turkish sector.)

The Euro has now taken over.

For comparison of exchange rates, in the new Euro, the following figures were given as at Saturday 24th May 2008:

1 British Pound = 1.25768 Euro
1 Euro (EUR) = 0.79512 British Pound (GBP)
