There are many islands that offer what you are asking for. Amorgos (where parts of the Blue Lagoon were filmed) Sifnos, Serifos, Naxos, Milos and even some parts of Paros can provide a nice relaxing holiday. Definitely avoid Mykonos, Santorini, Corfu and Rhodes. They are far too crowded.
If you prefer to stay on the mainland, Halkidiki has many beatiful beaches, nice restaurants and bars ( I don't know about the shops though) |

I can suggest you the Aegean islands, and Rhodes island, the island of the knights, world heritage city. The medieval town is one in Greece, the beach wonderful, and there are so many landscapes and beauties to enjoy... |

I suggest Rodos. You'll have the choice of crowded and/or desert beaches, all marvelous, sea of esmerald coulour, archaeological sites of grate importance, covering all periods of greek and european history, forests with pine trees, the old city of the Knights with its walls, palaces and pittoresque streets, museums, and on the other hand restaurants, clubs and bars for all tastes and wallets. As for shopping, I wouldn't immagine any better place, as you can find shops with the creations of famous designers, articrafts, porcelain and crystal items, and suvenirs of all kinds...

Paros or Naxos will be great for you. Also Siphnos or Milos. You can combine Paros+NAxos or Siphnos+Milos, as the pairs are on the same ferry line. Just don't stay in the town where the port is on any of the mentioned islands. |

I would say Santorini. It is lovely, romantic, and with many store for you, don’t worry!

Hello!
Corfu is a good solution for you(but you should avoid Kavos in south,it has so many tourists and it is very noisy). But the rest of the island is exactly what you describe. It is a big island so it has a lot of choises.
Have a great time in Greece! |

I enjoyed the island of Santorini. It is very relaxing and mellow. Great beaches, great restaurants sitting right on the water or has a great view, plenty of shops (there are some great jewelry shops....beautiful opals) and bars. I suggest getting the Lonely Planet it will tell ya more.
Have a fantastic time where ever you are in Greece.
I was in Santorini during the month of July and didn't find it crowded. |

You want to have access to all these things (incl bars!) yet you want it to be relaxing...
Noisy resorts are usually the cheap ones. These attract the all inclusive families or the back packers...
I would suggest Mykonos. It is famous for its night life and ambiance. If you look for a good resort (plenty to choose from) it will be very relaxing as well while you will not miss the incredible nightlife. I suggest Poseidon hotel.

An alternative is Santorini (on the Oia area not Kamari)
If you look for something more sophisticated (in terms of food) and less touristic I would go for Sifnos, Patmos or Naxos.
After all, in each and every island in Greece you will definitely find the relaxation you are looking for...
Have pleasant stay in Greece |
