You haven't said what passport you have. If it is a U.K. passport, then the answer is simple. Children under 16 used to be on their parents' passports. There was no such thing as their own passports. But the law changed some years ago. I don't know how long ago, but it was after the birth of my second child, now 9 yrs, because he was on our passports to begin with. As the parents' passports came up for renewal, they were not allowed to put children on their new ones. At that point children had to have their own. Ours were up for renewal in 2003 so we had to apply for 4 this time instead of 2. So if your child is on your passport, and your passport is still valid, then it is 100 per cent certain that that is all that is needed. |

If you are an AMERICAN citizen, see 1st website below to see that all children must have their own passport. If you are a British citizen, see 2nd website to see that children are required to have their own passports. |

If you REALLY need the real answer then you need to get the latest information from the Consulate... Asking this question on Answers can be VERY disastrous for you.
As a practical matter, at age 11 she DEFINITELY needs her own passport. for ANY country... including Portugal. Once a child is too big to carry, they need their own passport. |

she needs her own passport. I know b/c I had to get two for my kids just to go to Canada. Oh, and if you and her father are not together, you need written permission(notarized) from the other parent, saying it's okay. (had to deal w/ that, too) |

From what country to Portugal are you travelling? This makes a difference.
Even a 6 week old baby needs a passport to fly out of the UK. There is no such thing as your children travelling 'on your passport'. |

No dear. She must have her own passport. I know because I travel a lot with my kids and the authorities always demanded for a passport to each one of them here in Portugal. Just file for a passport for her and don't mind the nightmare LOL here we have that problem too LOL it's easier to get the info we need in the internet rather then calling the authorities. |

If you hold a portugese passport, I don't know.
If you have a british issued passport, then no. All children over six months need their own passport. |
