um, then I might give faliraki a miss then, its a tourist trap and all you will find is drunken brits.
But thats not to say you should give Rhodes a miss though. Rhodes is a beautiful island, maybe just stay in a different area? Mandraki harbour in Rhodes is close to the old town which is lovely and you definately have to visit, and the beach is within walking distance and so are the day-trip boats.
Dont forget to take a day-trip to Symi island whilst you are there. Gorgeous island, with festivals throughout the Summer, definately worth the trip, more of a family island.
Have a great holiday in Greece! |

I am from Rhodes,Faliraki is a very touristic part of the island, but all the luxury constructions of hotels are there..Just avoid the night life because i dont think it is the right place for a family...You can choose also the centre of the town.Rhodes island is one of the most famous destinations in the Mediterranean sea, with history, a combination between orient and western civilisations...The island of the knights, with all the italian constructions, and with wonderful sea...
Concerning the user above, the question has been made in a specific section, not in the turkish one, in order to reply by this way...
Needless to say that if we look in the history....cities of the Aegean part of Turkey have been created by the greeks and they still have greek names...But on the other hand thank you, because you do a publicity to what we have left in Asia Minor... |

We looked at faliraki but we thought it was more like magaluf, benidorm, ibiza etc so we decided to go to crete instead(actually we go on friday night). We felt that is more family orientated and the hotel has free water slides and a lazy river which sounds great to us. |

falaraki is the second Ibiza, not a good place for a family holiday. Lindos is nice |

Forget Faliraki!! Pefkos is a lovely resort in Rhodes. Good for families. |

For you and your family, avoid Faliraki.. it is not a good advice, this is an order.. |

Being drunk is "must" in Faliraki! I don't think it's the place for family vocation. |

Many family holidays at very good prices some resorts start from US$ 49 per night per unit - not per person.
Hotels can be booked on line, however, resorts and cruises if for members only. www.onevacationclub.com |

Generally avoid Mykonos, Rhodes and Malia-Creta. All the other places are nice for family vacations :D
edited: Many ppl misunderstood my answer. I love Creta and Rhodes and Mykonos. It's just you can't go with your family there in the summer. Not even the villagers there can stand those drunk brits. It's smth you definately want to avoid if you're not 18 and you dont like puking in random streets.
If you wanna see those islands, you can try avoiding those cosmopolitan bars/towns or get there in the autumn which its still hot. |

I recommend Izmir; Marmaris, Antalia, Didim- all cheaper and more like the old Greece of the 1970s - charming and family-friendly in a way that Faliraki certainly is not. If you want Greek monuments, there are plenty as well as Byzantine Churches and artifacts. |
