I know it is unfair on my part - I will be getting two points not just for answering the original question, but I would like to say this: WHY DO PEOPLE TRY TO ANSWER QUESTIONS WITHOUT HAVING THE FAINTEST CLUE WHAT THE RIGHT ANSWER SHOULD BE!!! Switzerland (joined just through bilateral agreements with EU), Britain, Denmark, Sweden and all ten new members of EU (including Poland) do not use Euros. And there are so many places on the Internet where one can easily check this information.
The currency in Poland is new Polish zloty (PLN) with the exchange as of today (1 Oct 2006):
1 PLN = 0.17 GBP, 1 GBP = 5.86 PLN;
1 EUR = 3.97 PLN; 1 PLN = 0.25 EUR.
But be careful!!! Until the mid 1990s there was the currency Polish zloty (PLZ) with the exchange rate to the new Polish zloty 1 PLN = 10 000 PLZ!!! So make sure you know how the new coins and banknotes should look like (the new banknotes have profiles of Polish kings). There are some places, where you can use Euros (in the same way in which you can pay with Euros on British flights and for British payphones), but that is not something that people would normally rely on. GBP, USD and EUR can easily be exchanged at airports, hotels, banks and exchange booths.
Again, people, please do not give stupid and uninformed answers if you have no clue. Your two points may be sometimes a pain in somebody's backside and cause unnecessary confusion.
(I am born and bred Polish myself, by the way)

Only in some hotels. The Euro comes into force in 2008 i think. Last week only the Zloty was in use in 99.9% of places. |

You CAN'T use euros in Poland. You can only exchange them. They are on currency called Zloty. |

Poland do not use Euro (and will not until 2010).
You can change them easily, but if you use euro to pay probably you'll be shortchanged.
If you own a ATM card from any Eurozone country you can withdraw Zloty from any ATM machine in Poland.

I found out that you can't for the daily life. Only in major stores or so. I asked a similar questions one week ago (about where to get zlotys, the polish currency). You might want to take a look at the answers I got as they might be also useful to you.

Wow, some people, e.g. Mark_J, are talking rubbish! Of course new EU member states don't have to use the Euro - none of them do! Although Slovenia are going to be first to start. Though it is kind of interesting that when the Euro first came in, almost every EU country used it, whereas it's now barely half. |

Sure they cannot. The currency of Poland is polish Zloty(PLN) 4 PLN = 1 Euro. 5,89 PLN = 1 GBP |
