Technically it can be counted in both, however i choose to go with Europe, seeing as it's always classed as European in sports competitions. However Russia has a big majority of its land on Asia,so choose which is best for you.

Russia covers both geographically, so both of you are right. The Ural mountains form the border. Culturally however it is European.

Geographically it is in Eurasia. But its main cities and culture is European. For example, if we take Denmark, we always say it is European country, and we take no notice that big territory of Greenland is also Danish, but isn't located in Europe. So, off course, Russia is European country. It's business and political mind is European. On the contrary, when we say about Asian countries we mean UAE, China, Korea etc., which cultures are absolutely different than in Russia. I think that main principle in your argument should not be geographical, but culturological, because every country is first of all the people who made this society, and only after that it is a spot on the map.

Little Witchy Girl
it's in Eurasia!
Located primarily in the eastern and northern hemispheres, Eurasia is considered a supercontinent, part of the supercontinent of Africa-Eurasia or simply a continent in its own right. In plate tectonics, the Eurasian Plate includes Europe and most of Asia but not the Indian subcontinent, the Arabian Peninsula or the area of the Russian Far East east of the Chersky Range. Eurasia is also sometimes used in geopolitics as a neutral way to refer to organizations of or affairs concerning the post-Soviet states, in particular Russia, the Central Asian republics, and the Transcaucasian republics.

hey you put the same question every weekend?

It's in both!
It is NOT just in Europe, or JUST in Asia. That's why it's called Eurasia...
I know historically it was just in Europe, but that quickly changed, and I don't think it's fair on the pplz living in the Asian part to say they're living in Europe for some reason... Although a lot of Russians seem to pride themselves on their 'Europeanness'.
But that's as stupid as Australia still thinking it's part of Europe.

Europe. Historically and culturally (not to mention ethnically) we have always been part of Europe.

Most of it is in Asia. But capital of Russia is in Europe. So it's in Eurasia.

Both geographically - Europe culturally.

Why on earth would Australia think it's part of Europe? That's the weirdest thing I've read on Yahoo answers ever!

It's a Eurasian nation state.

Turkey could arguably be a Eurasian nation state too.

FYI: Europe is an artificial creation and geologically speaking, there is no such thing as a "Europe". It's all Asia.
