He can't, if his using a keyboard that carry's only English letters the only way to spell it that is closest to the original Turkish spelling is "Turkiye", English letters don't carry the "ü".
To answer the queston: here is a schedule on trips to islands between Turkey and Greece.

ADDED: I agree with L.A., Ikaria is also very nice. |

Hi, there!!! I have just returned from Turkey! We went to Istanbul, but before we decided on that destination, we considered taking a ferry to Samos Island. It is very close to Turkey, and it's very small, too!
You can also visit Lesvos Island. They are famous for their Ouzo, and the third largest island in Greece!
Another one is Chios. They are famous for this pine-type resin called mastic which is reported to have all kinds of healthy properties!
Then, there's Ikaria. It's little visited, and underestimated. And the island that's usually associated with Ikaria is a tiny little one called Fourni.
All of these islands are located in the eastern Aegean sea and boarder Turkey.
The island of Kefallonia is located in the Ionian Sea-a sea that is shared by Albania and Italy. Don't visit there if your looking for an island near Turkey!
Kalo Taxithi (Good trip in Greek!)
Visit Matt Barrett's website to greece. Just type his name into the search box. In the guide to greece, you'll find a link to ferry schedules from samos to Ceseme.; The main port in samos is called Vathy and you would sail into this port from Ceseme. He's got other guides too, and is extremely informative and makes for good reading!
Adio!
p.s. if you're planning to visit any of these islands now, you'll be sure to find less "traffic" as the Greeks are back to being "hard at work" now! And most of Europe has also gone home. |

Zoi ((Ζωή))
|
I would go for something more traditional, with many notable ancient sightseeing, such as Hireum (Ηραίο), Pythagorium etc. This is Samos.
SPELLING OF WORDS: Just to let you know (Ianhad) that the english tastature hasn't this accent that is called "Umlaut" in the German Language, u with two dotes.
If someone has set English and French in his PC, let's say, he can't put those accents.
:-) Ones I did a mistake and misspelled Turkey as Tourkey (in Greek u is ou-ου) and a user had a relevant comment. |

There are daily tours between Marmaris-Rodos, Bodrum-Kos, Ayvalık-Midilli, Kaş-Meis.
A Greek may provide you with the Greek names of the islands if different. |

Is it not time you learnt to spell Turkey normally, or correctly Türkiye?
Most people will not understand your spelling. |
