Mykonos is NOT a good idea at all. I would recommend Thassos (You would fly into Kavala from Athens) there is a nice little hotel Hotel Sylvia very nice place with personal service and good rates. I would also recommend Santorini its one of my favourites. And Rhodes Island plenty to do and see there , but its really big and some parts you feel like you are in a city but maybe a good idea if your wife is pregnant as they will have all amenties that she mind need. |

Thassos is lovely, you have to go on a very short ferry ride to get there, but well worth it. Lovely relaxed atmosphere & friendly people, stunning scenery & good beaches. |

I have heard that Kokkari in Samos is a small quiet town with lots of relaxing to be done!
There are lots of tavernas close by and a few beaches.
It is an old fishing village which is slowly attracting more and more people!
I am going here next week but it has been recommended to me by people who have been back 6 times!! |

I went here w/my husband last year. It is very relaxing, and if you go a little before or after the main season, you can get a better rate. Every room has an ocean view, and is very first class. It is well worth it, not touristy. Rent a car from the airport. Eat in the local town. The restaurants are a bit pricey. But it truly is away from the touristy areas and you can meet some great towns people. I used to live in Greece and this is my favorite spot yet. Good Luck.

You can even reserve your room on expedia. They are very accomedating and you feel it the second you step out on to the property. |

Try the mainland - if you check out Kosmar's website i'm sure you'll find somewhere nice. People discount the mainland and always go for the islands and that might work to your advantage in what you're looking for. Try Parga or the Peloponnese (somewhere like Stoupa) |

Thassos Island is nice and have quiet, relaxing and beautiful places to visit especially the old towns, nearly everyone goes to the coastal villages and most of these have old villages up in the mountains, for example if you see Skala Sitiros which is the beach village, just the name Sitiros is the old village in the mountain.
I live in Kavala and visit Thassos regularly the easiest way to book is.. http://www.thomsonfly.com/en/index.html.. which is direct to Kavala then a short bus trip to the ferry.
Good luck hope you find what you are looking for. |

Well, you can fly directly to Rhodes with charters. I have booked my flights to Rhodes straight through travel agents without stopovers.
But, if you do want that smaller island.... try Symi, its 45 minutes away by hydrofoil once you get to Rhodes. I love it there, so beautiful and idyllic.
When it comes to apartments and villas.... maybe if you go on www.symivisitor.com and ask that question on their posting board? |

I lived in mykonos, its gorgeous (has a wildside) its got the honeymoon feel to it mixed with "its time to party" depending on which part you stay.
Its only small island, direct flights few & far between.
Failing that try santorini |
