Greeks are friendly, passionate and have a great sense of humor. They are also noisy, loud and indiscreet.
The younger generation is very open minded and very educated (most Greeks speak two and three foreign languages).
Greeks dress well, are very fashionable and very well informed about international affairs and politics. They also read a lot and a lot of them are in arts, literature etc.
They do have very tight family bounds, but I don't think this is anything negative.
Plus, they cook wonderful food. :)

i hate it when ppl refer to the movie "my big fat Greek wedding" Jesus were not all like that... not at all...and seriously their is no one characteristic ... were all VERY different...like I'm quiet (not loud like ppl make Greeks sound) and I'm not religious ... i barley even socialize with other Greeks ..except my family...although the name thing is KIND off true... like yes ...i do have my grandmothers name lol

Chauvanistic men. Big eaters. Close family. Lots of dancing and music.

Have you seen "My big Fat Greek Wedding"?
That movie is so funny and it plays up many greek sterotypes.
Any Greek will tell you, there are only 2 types of people,
People who are Greek and people who wish they were greek.
