There's so much more then only chocolats and wafles....The traditional meals are stoofvlees met frieten(Stew with chips),witloof in de oven (cichorei with cheese saus and ham in the oven), pekes stoemp met worst( mash with carrots and sausage),Mosselen met frieten( Mussels with chips), Mattetaart (little tarts made with a lot of eggs), advocaat (egg flip),frikadelle koek met krieken(meatloaf with cheries),jenever....all the beers to much for this page.

You seem to think that Belgium is located somewhere on the outer ridge of the galaxy. As to food : we have all the foods which you would find in an average american supermarket plus a lot of chinese, jewish (kosher), arab (halal) , italian, spanish specialities, a wide selection of French wines and cheeses, and a selection of delicatessen from all over the world.
Belgian chocolate gets its unique flavour from (secret) recipes mixing cocoa, vanilla, sugar (not cane), and a lot of other ingredients. It is said to be the best in the world.

I have been to Belgium many times, mostly to go to the american store there when we lived in Germany. They have wonderful pastries, ice cream, chocolates, and yes, waffles as someone pointed out.

Belgian chocolate is fab mmmmmmmmmm the food in Belgium is great and you can get anything you want the Flemish meat stew with chips yummy and melts in your mouth,fish any way any kind?seafood is to die for and the presentation wow,lamb ,pork,beef,you name it you can get it fab,Brussels is a great city and lots to see and do the Arden's is the wow factor I love Gent now there is a city full of history and the Gothic buildings and cathedrals paintings and the beer over 400,different kinds to suit your taste enjoy you will?

Belgian chocolate is the best in the world. I'm not quite sure what other food they have, but they did invent French fries. And I've been to Brussels and Bruge. Both are absolutely gorgeous cities, and ones I'd certainly recommend visiting.
