Combining countrys of Europe?

This is not a question. Just a stupid idea of a person who doesn't know anything about geography, history.... of Europe. In the European Union the country are united in a political/economical union which gives them the right freedom and opportunities in the globalisation market.

So I disagree, think again.

Pointless countries?!?!?!?! Do you even know what are you talking about? I'd say you are pretty much clueless. And obviously you know nothing about European history and culture. The sole idea of merging independent countries, who have nothing in common (like "Macedonia, Albania, Greece, Bulgaria all become part of Romania" or Portugal and Spain - they really don't have much in common besides being neighbors), is absolutely ridiculous. And recreating Yugoslavia - are you absolutely mad? Open a book or two and read what happened with it. It was, is and will be impossible.
And second: EU is not a country and will never become one, because it's members (and people) would never agree on denouncing their independence. Ever. It is and will remain a "club" of independent states, who transfer some of their sovereign powers to the Union in order to work for common goals.

Yes, great idea. Also lets make the USA and Mexico one country. Lets face it we love Mexican food and Spanish is going to be the native language in ten years. Common dude, u cant be serious.

I agree. While we are at it lets also combine all of Latin America into Mexico. Africa into "wasteland" and Asia into "China" and "India".

I disagree. Many of those countries have a long history if independance and those nations each have their own ways, traditions, morals, language etc. They would not like to have to change to adjust to other nations in their combined country, but with several different nations together in one country it's also impossible to please them all.

This would just start ethnic conflicts once again. The big nations within those countries would basically control everything, leaving the smaller ones dissatisfied. It's a recipe for disaster.

It's just a few years since the nations of former Yugoslavia craved independancy so badly that they were ready to fight a war over it. What do you think would happen if you threw them again into one pot? The same applies for the other countries you mentioned. It just wouldn't work.

Europe is made of 45 countries, each one, with its own history and culture.

Portugal has a unique culture and born before Spain in Iberian Peninsula.
It's one of the first european countries and has more than 800 years as a country!
In Portugal, the language spoken is the portuguese and was one the greatest empires this world has ever seen from XV to XIX...

Spain, our neighbour, has its own history too as every european country.

Well we're doing that already. We call it the European Union. And maybe one day we'll have the United States of Europe. With Switzerland being some sort of Costa Rica.
