I went to Copenhagen last year and saw the Queen out on her balcony as it was her birthday. it's nice there and the ladies are beeeeeeeeauuuuutiiffulllllllll. Although the missus kept digging me in the ribs when i started to dribble too much.
Beer is expensive and i'm still paying for the bottle of wine we got in a restaurant one night!

â™  There stood the fence â™
Full of History. Some people there STILL look like Vikings.

Beautiful place. An antique Europe,in most parts.Quite country actually in general. The men are so nice and kind.If you like nice, tall and hot blonde men then HELL YEAH go to Denmark!!! Most of them know how to cook too,and clean! What more can ask for!!!! lol.

Chango Encuerado
I guess because when it comes to travelling, Denmark is not in the top of the list and is not as famous as UK or France. Only the people that lives in the vicinity of your country has heard of it.

When I lived in the USA, you always see commercials on tv or ads in the newspapers about visiting Ireland, UK, France or Spain. I do not remember seeing once an advert about Denmark.

Perhaps the tourism board in Denmark should spend more money promoting the beauties and attractions of such wonderful place.

I'm planing on going to Arhus this summer.....

I've been to Denmark twice and would love to go again. The sky is so blue (when it's not raining!) The countryside is lovely and everywhere is so clean. Beaches are as good anywhere - but it's tooooooooooooo cold to swim.
Beautiful place, I recommend it to everyone!!!!

Join the club :) There are some 200 countries in the world and it always seems to be about US, France, Spain, UK, Italy and then you sort of have had it. Also incidently the tourist top destinations.

That changes though from the split second you move a bit out of the anglo-saxon internet-sphere.

Here in Spain Denmark is known to be sooo civilised and neat, and in Morocco people asked me if it was true that Denmark was heaven on earth.

I found it so tiny and neat and friendly !

Roland
ok. Here's a qustion about Denmark:
Do you think Queen of Denmark is hot?

1)Do Danes prefer the Swedish or Norwegian language, which is closer to their own?
2) Did the Vikings come from Denmark, Sweden or Norway?
There, I've asked two questions, will you answer them?

Thanks MyarmsYourHearse (strange name) for answering my questions, shame I can't give you 'best answer'.

first of all to the last answer....Denmark is not holland. amsterdam in in holland you ding dong. Denmark is in scandinavia, totally different country and we have a prime minister (rasmus anders fogh).
no the danish do not have danish pastries...its only the states that call them that. it is not depressing and too cold. its like any other country in europe in the winter and beautiful in the spring and summer. Beer is not expensive....have u tried to buy it in sweden.
no the danish language is totally different to norwegian and swedish...danes dont understand swedish and vice versa. i have been here 3 years and still can't speak it. its one of the hardest languages to learn....total opposite of swedish.
vikings came from all of scandinavia.
the girls are beautiful and the men , very polite, like to party, spend time with family and work less. hahaha.

When the there are places such as Greece, Spain and Italy why would anyone care about Denmark...sorry...!
Question: why people still live there..? Why they just don't migrate?

Zoeksalamander

Yes Denmark is a nice place, I have a friend who lives in Copenhagen and he took me to all the usual places - little mermaid, Christiania, Tivoli etc.. One of my best holidays. Food is good too, great waffles!

"They speak Deutch there, right?"
In Germany they speak Deutsch=German, in Denmark Danish!!
"And the capitol [sic] is Amsterdam?"
Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands!!
"There's good pot and hookers there?"
Unfortunately Amsterdam seems only be famous for the coffeeshops and the red light district .
"Everybody wears wooden shoes?"
In the Netherlands, formerly, not now, you idiot.
"What do you call Danish (pastry) in Denmark? Just a pastry?
Ain't that where that Hell-singer castle is, what Shakespears wrote about in the Hobbit?" I dunno.
"Does everybody wear helmets with horns?"
Yes they do, hahahaha :-)) are you nuts, of course not!
"Are all the girls named Heidi?"
That's in Switzerland.
"Do they yodel there?" In Switzerland, they do.
"Is the little Dutch boy still fingering the dykes? (so they don't leak)", Even in the Netherlands this guy has no employment anymore.
"Is Tripoli (the amusement park) open in February?"
You mean Tivoli in Copenhagen.
"Do they have McDonalds in Denmark, at least in Amsterdam the capitol?"
The capital of Denmark is Copenhagen, and yes they will have MacDonalds there , you yankees can be found everywhere.
"Who's the president of Denmark? It's not that Angela Erkl is it? Is she related to Steve Erkl ("did I do thaaat?")?"
Angela Merkel is the president of Germany, not Denmark.

I never ever read such nonsense before, go back to school and do your geography all over again!!!
We Europeans know more about USA then you would ever know about Europe. Shame on you!!!!

Denmark is a lovely little country in the north of Europe. The people, who mostly have blond hairs and blue eyes, are friendly and they speak their nice sounding language, Danish! Their capital Copenhagen is beautiful and the beaches in Denmark are also lovely, the landscape is very nice and natural. Danish have a friendly soft nature and they play soccer very well!

I don't think you know what [sic] and "tongue in cheek" mean. These questions are satire, something Danes should be quite familiar with.

I was there on visiting and its a cold, unfriendly, depressive and dark place. the people don't behave, are very shy to the foreigners (especially to dark ones). i think no one wants to go to Denmark except visiting someone.

i have a cousin, married to a danish man, she always says she never wanted to come to Denmark and would like to back to turkey where the sun is shining :)
