You still need a passport to travel anywhere - that's why so many get stolen ! ! !

Gem Gem
Yes, I'm afraid so!

If you are a UK citizen you must have a full 10 year passport or 5 year passport for a child. If you are a citizen of a country with national ID cards such as Spain you only need to bring your ID card.

Don't know about wht the legal / EU standpoint is, but the fact remains if you do travel from England to France you have to show your passport. I do this regularly.

As England has not signed the Schengen Agreement, you need a passport.
But for example: Traveling from France to Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy, ... works without having a passport

As a citizen of a member country you only need a National ID Card for travelling within all the EU. If a country like the UK doesn't issue National ID Cards its citizens need a passport instead.

candygrr1
