The Uk stands for "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Norhtern Ireland." Scotland and England were two separate kingdoms ruled by the same Monarch until they were joined together in 1701 by the Act of Union, creating Great Britain. Later Irealand was joined to create the UK. After the south of Ireland left the Union, it became know as stated above.
So the answer is no. All the same place.
