?

I'm Turkish and I like the company of the people from U.K. It is fun chatting with them because of their peculiar sense of humor/irony and because of some of their eccentricities (like their obsession on queuing). I adore their dislike of fuss.
I cannot comment on behalf of all Turks but I think I can say that British people do not have a negative stereotype in Turkey. The same thing applies to Irish people and the Scots, also.

I have observed that people who have learned a second language feel more affiliated with the native speakers of that second language than others.

I am Turkish, my second language is English and I have been reading books, watching films in English since I was eleven, and yes, I feel more close to native English speakers than, say, the French.

And among native English speakers, I can safely say that I prefer Brits over Americans, and not only because of US foreign policy, but because of Jane Austen, Arthur Conan Doyle and Terry Pratchett.

And I like to watch certain BBC productions.

Having said that, I donot believe we can generalize my personal preferences to the whole public.

im turkish and i love the native brits....
i think the majority of the brits are very nice people with a great sense of humor, ive been brought up in england and can say im proud.....
i also admire them... which other nation has managed to invade so many other countries whilst never being sober....
and for the scum above who said "no-one loves the UK" well you'd be surprised.
but yet again i cant speak for every turk, as you get racists in every nation.

ow and i cant help but say, that english lads can be very cute, esp ones that have a nice yorkshire accent.....

As a plus to what Totally Blunt said, the British are found on abundant on the Turkish coast especially in Marmaris and Bodrum making them one the most important tourists in the country. I can easily say that they're preferred to other nationalities, they have a reputation of being very respectful of the customs and nature of the place they settle in. Even when they're drunk, they're not that obnoxious and hang around touristic areas not bothering the locals. And in a documentary I watched, waiters at restaurants were always happy with the English elderly, cause they were the sweetest and gave the biggest tips (go figure) especially compared to the German.

I think you will find that Turkish people are not as judgemental as some people from other countries. As as scot I have never had any problems when i have visited their country, but talk to a girl who has had a turkish man in her life and she will tell you how everyone she knew suspected he was after a visa!

They don't particularly like them, but I haven't heard anybody having anything against them. I believe their attitude is more on the positive side than negative.

I like the English sense of humour. Sarcastic, cynical , yet never shallow. I love English movies.

Why shouldnt they like them, Turks do like people from united kingdoms,

i am turkish myself and trust me we do like you guyss.
there isnt a problem with you guyss.
we like about everyone of you guyss.
there is no reason to hate people when they havent done anythingg.
and by the way hate is a very strong wordd.
so lets say we dislike people who treat us badd.
we love people who help us out with stuff we needd.
so yea you should know that we do love you guyss.
no problem about that and where did you hear that from?..
hope it helpedd.

i prefer irish people to british people better to ask this way do they like turks or any foreigners more i don't think so you can't even tell whats going on with british people unless you know them really well i know i'm generalizing but we don't like to hide our feelings at least so there's the difference

Tiocfaidh ár lá
Remember most of the world sees the countries of the UK as separate, so if you're talking about England...probably not.

Kenny L
turks specially loves uk females...>:))) specially with big boobs ones...

Mert E
I dont want to be crude but I'm afraid deffinently not...Both the British and Turks have had a long history with each other since the ottoman empire times and more recently back in 1999-2000 season of the Uefa Cup match between teams Galatasaray and Leeds United where Turkish fans brutally stabbed 2 English fans to death, both Brits died.

If you are going to Turkey I suppose it would be wise to get used to there customs while your stay there.

no one likes people from the United Kingdom

I Say, Old Chap!
Yes they like scamming people from the UK and trying to fleece them out of money, or marrying gullible British women in order to get a visa into the UK.

I hope Turkey is never accepted into the EU
