Turkish people speak Turkish.
If you are a tourist I would learn some basics like "hello" "Thank you" and "Please" The more turkish you speak the better deals you will get, the people you will meet and the more fun you will have.
That being said It is pretty easy to travel in Turkey and speaking English.

Many Turks in tourist areas such as Sultanahmet in Istanbul, Goreme in Capadoccia and the coastal resort areas, and in the large malls where expatriates shop speak some level of English, from basic phrases to excellent conversational skills.
Most tourists visiting Turkey have some English skills, so English is essentially a common language in which to communicate. |

Yes but neither the tree nor the taxa identified as luminous are set in stone and there is already new information on both aspects...however, note how many times bioluminescence appears to have arisen, more than 40, considering that one group of organisms may have several different chemistries....woooooow it is a remarkably broadly distributed phenomenon

Yes, they do. The trouble is, even Turks who don't speak English like to spark up a conversation with tourists. |

English-speaking ability varies widely. In the tourist areas of Istanbul you'll find many shopkeepers able to speak some English. In other areas of Istanbul it's harder to find but again this varies and often depends on education. As for Ladybug's hateful comment, you are making people think that Turks are rude with your answer to this person's very reasonable question. Learn some basics before you go there and carry a dictionary with you. |
