Most Russian teens carry prepaid cell phones. They buy minutes as needed, but the majority basically lives on TXT. Also it helps that mobile to mobile calls are often free |

Kristaic brings up an interesting point. Old people in Russia are poor and the young are richer. Opposite in the USA.
hey Rozmin, no need to take offense. I wasn't saying anything bad about Russia, but if you think old people in USA are even anywhere near as poor as Russians you need to get back to Russia and look around. I wasn't even aware of this difference until my Russian wife pointed it out to me. |

Yes, even more so then in UK/USA. Russia has such a low GDP because of its ageing population. The old have literally zero money but the younger generation are not that badly off financially. |

yeah, even kids that do to the 1st grade have special kids' cell phones, so that their parents can communicate with them.Almost every teen in Russia has a cell, and they have better phones and options for them too:) |

SqueekyP, poverty among the old is a major problem in the USA as well. You just never get a chance to see those poor old people. The rich ones are so much more photogenic, you know...But every so often the media/someone in Congress decides to do something, until something else becomes more popular again. :-S |
