The Hadith's are 1500 years old and there are some undependable ones, as you know.

Nevertheless that is not the issue but what is described in that hadith might be the Turkic nations of that era which are from the central Asia who look like Far Easterners.

Nowadays Turks of Turkey are a mixture of a lot of races since Turkey is a cross road of a lot of civilizations and because of the great range that our ancestors, the Ottomans covered, we come in all different shapes and sizes: blonds, brunettes, blue eyes, dark brown eyes, milky white skin to Latin resemblances.

The Hadiths's description, as all the descriptions we can read in the Quran,the Torah and the Bible are usually "images", "symbols" or sometimes even metaphors. That means that sometimes you have to read between the lines.
By the way, the modern Turks have not anymore the "tiny" eyes, as the asian features have usually been mixed with caucasian,slavic,greek,arab or latin features ( while the people inTurkmenistan and Kazakhstan have not married non-Turkic people, that's why they still have asian features )
The Turks are very different, you can see brunette,blondes,light skin,darker skin,smooth hair,curly hair,asian-alike people, slavic-alike,arab-alike,latin alike people from Edirne to Hakkari...

But it's true the most "common" type is usually the black-hair,brown-eyes,white-skin Caucasian/Mediterranean alike"version", as for instance myself...

By the way, a Turkish citizen is Turkish, regardless of his appearance...The only thing that matters is his/her feeling about belonging to the nation.

Small eyes, I myself have have big and cute eyes( according to my american friends, almond shaped kind!!!
Red faces, old Turkish men do tend to have red faces when they get angry. I, myself have red cheeks 90 percent of the time. I thought that that is considered something rather beautiful, some people also think I have minor allergies,lol!!!!

i lived in a community with turkish folks (and an islamic turkish roommate)

they basically look like mexicans with big noses and beards, though there are white turks too.
