Depends .. my wife earn better than me because she had good education & profession and I'm just a blue collar.

When I look at my company woman's and man's who had same experience and qualification earns same salary, maybe some companies had different policies but not mine.

p.s : darn .. she ( my wife ) had a cool car but I can't borrow it for drive because she thought I'm a d@ck when I drive a car and she doesn't trust my driving skills .. what can I said? .. cry

Yes, they do earn the same wages.
There has never been a gender based difference in pay for the same job in Turkey.
During the 20th century Turkish women worked hard to prove that they could do any work and fill any job that men do. However there had never been unequal payment therefore no problem related to it.

It depends if both sexes have same positions in their jobs. For example, if a woman and a man are both doctors in same hospital in same positions, their wages are equal.

I have never seen women earning less than men in similar positions in Turkey. In all the places I have worked, be them professional or not, pays matched rank and the job done, not sex.

Having said that, we still cannot say the issue of gender equality is solved here. Less women than men get to be high level managers. Women arenot represented enough in elected offices. When the crisis hit in 2001, the women were the first to lose their jobs, because "men earned the bread" (women were using it to party, you see).

What's worse, despite the few laws AKP passed because of the pressure of women's organizations, the general condition of women has gone back. More honour killings, less job opportunities, no positive discrimination to make things better.

US has unequal pay between the sexes? Do you have proof of that? Because I would LOVE to know that that is true.. Americans are huge hypocrites.. Believe me, I know! :)
Oh, and btw, they do have equal wages in Turkey.
