Do people in Europe like Americans ? In particular, American tourists?

well, Europeans are fascinated about America just like the Americans are fascinated about Europe.
unfortunately, i cant say the same thing about the populations of the two continents. Europeans think that Americans are stupid and eat a lot of junk food.
Of course these are prejudices and it is not a rule for all Europeans to think that way... i think it really depends from one european country to another; Eastern Europeans might LOVE the Americans, while Western Europeans might hate them.

No. It has been that way since the 60's. Sorry but if you travel to Europe or other countries in the world if you say you are American you will find that sometimes even bellboys will walk away and not service them.

That all depends on how they behave. If you respect their culture, are polite, learn to speak some of their language -- greetings, please and thank you, you ill probably be treated well. If you are a badly dressed rude loud mouth, probably not.

rivery
not every1 has the same opinion. maybe some ppl dont like them, and maybe som ppl do. u cant just generalize every1 into 1 group.

I am from the north of England and don't really get many American tourists where I live. But the ones I have met have been really nice people, so the aswer to your questiopn is yes. Its the other europeans that we don't like French, Spanish etc.. so I think Americans get a warm welcome lol.

lonetraveler
No, America's government is the most hated in the world, and you as an American fall in the same category.

Yes, I like Americans.

But I know people who does'nt.

It kind of depends on the country, the region, and of course how well the typical American tourist behaves. In Paris we are tolerated, and in Poland we are treated like old friends. It runs the entire gamut in between.

There is some strong anti-American feeling now due to the war in Iraq. Stay away from crowds and obvious anti-U.S. demonstrations.

It´s like in all over the world, it depends on how the tourists are treating the people in the country they are visiting.

If you have a lot of dollars to spend, then yes, they will like you lol
