While I was over there I did find some places that would take dollars and Euros Ruble is the national currency. One thing I did find out when you go to exchange currency. Make sure your currency is in good condition with no fading or marks on them or they will not exchange it. If they do they will charge a higher exchange rate

Lisistrata
No, as Russia does not belong to the European Community (and not even all countries from the EU have euros, by the way). The russian currency is the ruble. But you can exchange euros for rubles and vice versa very easily there. Avoid the airports and hotels when it will turn out more expensive. Any Bank would do that. 1 EUR = 35 RUB approximately, by the way. Good luck!

David W
They use their own currency - the Rouble. But there are plenty of currency exchanges and banks there that will convert your Euro's to Roubles.

Hermes
No, they use the ruble...

they will take them at currency exchange

Lana
In Russia use roubles. 1 ruoble=100kopec. You can exchange euro, pounds or dollars in airport or in the city,
1 euro = 34 roubles
1 pound = 50 roubles
1 dollar =25 roubles

Breeze
No, its the Rouble... but they like American dollars

mila KZ
they use rubels but you could bring euros and exchenge in bank to rubels

Laura L
Yes, but you had better know the exchange rate and don't let your euro's be seen in public. The best thing to do is exchange for rubles at the local bank. Unless you have some connections with street exchangers, you can get a better deal that way. BUT! It's very very risky.

nope, russia does not use russia because its not part of the european money. Russia uses its own money rubels. But you can exchange euros or dollars for rubels in banks anytime!

pjallittle
Euros are the currency of countries who belong to the European Union although it has become the currency of exchange preference but US Dollars are also universally accepted.

Russia still has their own currency........rubles.

kfc
The Russian currency is the Rouble not the Euro.

СенÑ
They don't use Euros in Russia, but if you want to exchange your money into Roubles it is better to have Euros or Dollars rather than Pounds. Or you can just use the cash machines there, withdraw a large amount of cash and pay the £2.50 bank charge which is less than the commission taken by the exchange bureau.

albino
roubles still I believe

Ray P
No. It's not in the ECC. Currency is the Ruble
