I live near a fortress, which is much more interesting than a castle, and a lot older, too. The Kalemegdan Fortress has a wonderful position overlooking the confluence of the Sava into the Danube. It was first built at the end of the 1st century, due to its strategic importance, by the Romans. After the Goths and Huns destroyed it, the fortification was rebuilt in the 6th century. About a century later it was newly destroyed by Avars and Slavs.

The Belgrade Fortress has been destroyed and rebuilt many times. In the 12th century, Byzantine emperor Manuel I Comnenus built a new fortress on the Roman ruins. In the 14th century the small castle on the hill expanded down to the riverbanks. After this, the fortress had been rebuilt and fortified by the Ottomans and also by the Austrians.

I think the pure number of invaders and the battles being fought on it are more interesting than a medieval castle. So, to answer your question, no I'm not jealous at all.

I'm surrounded by mountains and a couple of volcanoes.
I'm at 2333 mts. above sea level.
The closest castle that I can think of is a fair 12 hours flight from where I live.

kind of jelous yea, but my house is by a castle... that is King Samulis castle from during the byzentine empire... kinda cool, its really amazing... well i hope that made YOU jelous... hahahahahah

I live in a castle , well it was an old ruin of a castle and my family renovated it , its very beautiful .

Nar, I live in Durham; theres loads of castles here. We also have the the number one most beautiful Cathedral in the Country (The Knocker is so famous and worth so much that you cant touch it lol).

Even if we didn't have this stuff i don't think i would be jealous lol.

There's a castle here in the town where I live about 5 minute walk from home. There's are lots of other castles in the towns nearby. Italy is full of them.

Why Would I Be Jelous I Get To Vist That Hotel And Castle Every Day When I Go To The Gym.
