I know what you mean...I can't decide either, but I think there are a lot of beautiful buildings in London as well if you know where to look. And I have to admit that I get a little overwhelmed by the amount of smoking in Paris.

paris. i thought there was more to do in paris, more historic sites, more to do at night, and it seemed more steeped in french culture, wheareas london just seems very westernised. and i would never describe london as 'vibrant', murky would be a more appropriate word. oh and the food and women are nicer in paris; those are my two most favourite things in the world, so paris wins.

If you are going there for a vacation then I will sugguest you kill two birds with one stone...travel to London then take a train to Paris. I am planning to do the same next year for my summer vacation.

London is best. I have lived there a couple of times during my life, and I never had to look far for things to do or places to go...;

London

London is a much more vibrant and dynamic city. Both cities have got lots of history and culture but London has more to offer today and is more accepting of world cultures than Paris. Definitely much more cosmopolitan than Paris!

London. Paris is dirty and full of stroppy Parisians for the most part

Both have their good and bad parts! THey are similar and different! London is so grand in places and higgledy piggledy in others (even in Whitehall!) and Paris is so romantic. I like both I think!

the 2 cities are pretty differnt but since I have been to paris at least 6 times and still find new things to do each time I would have to say Paris.

Plus I found it less exepensive than London by far. In addition doing side trips outside of the area were easier plus you had a lot more choices as where to go and see. I feel that Paris has more of a romantic feel as well and is easy to get around on foot or metro... The food is amazing - much better than in England by far. Plus you have some of the greatest art on the planet in Paris (granted the British Museum is great as well but come on... you have the Louvre and Musee d'orsay as well as several other smaller places to check out).

Palaces and castles in France are much more interesting than in England... they show more a slice of life than the more militaristic side. Versailles is amazing plus you have Napoleaon's Mal Maison as well as Fontainbleau so close by. The Loire valley is chock full of amazing chateau as well...

So yeah, Paris certainly has a lot to offer and there is a reason it is consistantly the top place for tourists internationally.

london.oval
Really difficult one, but both are beautiful in their own right and have wonderful architecture and museums to wonder past and through. French people are very rude and of course speak that funny language that no one but themselves understand.

Whereas in London they speak sort of English and its fun to try and understand them and the buildings and museums are just as much fun to drift past and through.

However the train that links the two.

Now there's the thing - if you get the chance DO RIDE THE TRAIN !!!!!!!

London. cos I can't speak French.

Paris: better food, better shops, better nightlife, better museums, better architechture, better bars and still cheaper for alcohol & fags (for now). Let's not even start talking about PSG, football and the quality of the men - romantic, exciting, and fantastic lovers....

Paris is the rudest, most soulless capital in Europe.

London wins this contest hands down.
