Well, I am using my actual photograph, but only one person can recognize me, the person who took the photo.

Nobody that I know in real life uses this section, but I still feel uncomfortable about using a recognizable photo. I feel freer as an anonymous user.

Come on, Fatih... You have nothing to be afraid of, your friends are here to be close to you if needed.
Furthermore, I believe your entire photo will make some lads, who publish cinema actors' photos as theirs, feel embarassed.
I'm thinking of doing the same sometime, exactly for the same reason (some of my turkish and italian friends do know how I look like).....

Well Fatih,let me tell you what happened to me whether or not belive me,make your own decision.
After I started to participate in this section,i changed my adress.I moved to another area in the same city.
....and one day shortly after i moved,i gave a very sharp answer to someone and we started to argue in Y/A's.A sharp and bad argument indeed.And the very same day i received a phone call at my house asking my name from a foreiner (female) gigling,and trying to make fun of my answer.
The worst part is,i did not give my new phone number to anyone yet, i personelly didn't know my number.
I just didn't like it and after that thing happened i put a distance to Y/A especially the political and racist questions.

All the answerers are right. There are pros and cons to having your picture posted here. But personally, I would if I could as I have nothing to be guilty about. I can't choose what I came to look like and viewers would just have to accept it. My only problem is my hubby doesn't want it. I will be in soooo
deep sh*it that I don't dare risk hurting him. I do give out my pics to friends via email though, maybe you should consider that.

I never thought of putting my real photo online for several reasons;

1- I seriously think that yahoo avatars are cute! Lol, I prefer avatars to photos here.

2- I saw that when trolls clone you, they steal and use your photo too. I wouldn't want that.

3- Only very few yahoo users have seen my real photos, and I like to keep it that way...mysterious huh? ;)

I have never hidden anything about myself on the internet. So what? The whole world knows who I am and what I am. I do not mean any harm to anyone and if someone wants to harm me, well he or she will have a hard time doing that. Thank God, there are so many people protecting me :)

Don't ever put a pic of yourself online along with any other information about you! People could easily tack you down, especially if you are a target. Good luck!
