depends on which side of politics u r looking as a citizen or a politician ,pursuiting a career,democracy is by meaning people sitting on chairs ,and denotes discussing and sharing for better,as a citizen u vote and your vote counts ,thats the least u can do in a democratic nation,in some others its a waste of time(dictation),regarding politicians all i can comment on is that the battle is unfair and they do what thye do to reach even if its by stepping on others,politics is never a waste of time ,its the philosphy of understanding how perspectives are and will be and challenges to motivate for approving or objecting on ground of basis we see,

No, i donty find it a waste of time as far as it concerns our future and the future of this planet.
What i dont find interesting is to fight for it the political parties, and the lack of colaborationbetween them, ignoring that their own purpose it is their country and not the prestige and the ''chair''

Man is by nature a political animal-Plato. Sometimes politics seems a waste since there is so much gridlock. But remember when people get behind a good candidate that they believe in they can make a difference. Whether you like Reagan, Clinton, Gingrich, Roosevelt etc. you have to admit they had a lot of people behind them and they accomplished much of their agenda.

Whether you think it is a waste of time or not it is irrelevant. Politics-any politics- affect our lives directly and indirectly. We live in a culture/nation complex which is run on politics.You will be a full to consider something that affects you a waste of time. The only way that you can avoid this is to find a remote tree climb on it and play the flute all day long. But the way this planet is going even that might not be easy to find in a few more decades.

I don't think it is a waste of time, however I do feel that the vast majority of the people in politics are corrupt or have their own hidden agenda. Call me a pessimist, but I feel I am just a realist. =)

I think politics are a waste of time. I'm the "young people" in which you are referring to, and I'd have to agree with your last statement.
It's just that I don't like my government arguing over the littlest of things. In my opinion, I think we should just have a direct democracy and have everyone vote for what issues they want to agree/disagree with. You want abortion? You want gay marriage? You want affirmation? Let the people vote and decide, instead of having politicians make the decisions for us.
