I liked old Yugoslavia, whatever the political climate was. I liked the mountains, plains, forests, sea, the incorporated diversity... I was proud of our sport leagues, our national teams...
It could have worked even in 1991 if those on power had wanted... We would have been a great EU country, and all our peoples would have been happy, dwelling freely anywhere in Europe or at home...
Economic integrations are followed by political integrations, but the forces which tore apart this bonding, are still very strong. The political trend is joining European Union and not forming a new Yugoslavia.
Reasons why Yugoslavia should be formed again:
1)For the sake of old times.
2)Because it could be faster than joining European Union.
Reasons why Yugoslavia should not be formed again:
1)Political differences.
2)No real reason for joining.
3)European Union is the path. |

Not as a country. They could reunite as a region if they will be part of the EU in the far future. It has some benefit for them to be united but just economically.
Before that: definitely NO.
- they have different religions and slightly different languages
- they consider themselves as independent nations and they were only united by an external force (USSR, Ottoman Empire)
- they have too fiercy past with each other: too many blood and tears and not enough time. |

I'm from Serbia, and I think (that's my opinion, no offence) that Serbia and Republika Srpska (the part of Bosnia or BIH) should unite, but with Croatia or the other part of Bosnia-NO
Why?
Because there would be too many fights between Serbs, Muslims and Croats.
That's just my opinion...I think Serbs would like to unite again:O) |

I really don't think they should, and anyway it's highly hypothetical: have you heard any such rumours in any of the countries? They have had the experience, it proved wrong, for various reasons. Why do something again if it didn't work before? You don't have to think 'how would it be if...' You already know it's not working. That's the best reason to me. |
