Does Europe accept USD? (United States Dollars) |

Generally the answer is no.
In airports of course (and even in some of the very large stores in capital cities) you may be able to pay in USD, (but you will get change back in the domestic currency)
However on a day-to-day level the basic answer is no. In countries which may do (still being the exception rather than the rule), the exchange rate would be random, but certainly not in your benefit!
Therefore the general advice is to exchange a small amount of money to the domestic currencies of the country/countries you are visiting, and then take your ATM (and creditcard if you have one) with you. |

I took a cab in germany once.. when we arrived at my destination i found out I didn't have enough Euros so I asked if it was ok to pay in US dollars.. the cab guy got pretty pissed and told me to get the hell out and keep my monopoly money with me O_0 |

I just talked to Europe on the phone. They said sure, no problem.
In tourist areas, some merchants will accept USD currency, though you will get a lousy exchange rate. Just about any bank will accept USD in exchange for the local currency, but the best thing to do is carry ATM cards, since ATMs are everywhere in Europe and they will dispense local currency, charging your account for the US equivalent. |

If you change 10 dollars to Euro, you'll get about 6 Euro 70 Cents.
If you try to pay with dollars in a shop, they will count 10 dollars for 5 Euro, if taking dollars at all. |

No, but you can change your dollars into money, sorry, Euros, or the local currency if you're in a non-Eurozone country. |

No, you can change enough for a cab at the airport but you will get a better rate somewhere else.
The dollar is so weak now it is heartbreaking every time I make change. |

No. I live in Europe and most of the countries use EUROs but some countries have their own currencies so I suggest to exchange your money before you go to the trip or when you come. |

the counties which have euro no. the other countries maybe yes!!countries like albania, fyrom and european turkey sure!! |

I believe Euros are a better bet (depending on which country/countries you plan to visit).
Use the same money that people in that particular country actually use in their transactions and you will be fine. |

It depends on which part of Europe. Eastern parts like Czech republic do. Western countries like France and England do not, although it is super easy to find exchange stores to switch USD to EURO.
Also, you can bring your ATM or credit cards and you can use those either to withdraw cash in Euros or pay for an exchange fee (check with your bank on the amount).
I usually bring about 100 in USD to exchange at the airport to be able to get a cab where i need to get (or pay for metro) and then pull cash out via ATM, or pay with credit cards. |
