Prostitution sadly thrives in regions of poverty. Imagine yourself living with three generations of your family in a one bed flat, no job, cold and hungry. Then you will understand why people do the things they do.

Joe your question is not very intelligent. You are comparing people using internet dating with strippers and prostitutes. That's about the same as asking if those girls on eharmony are just hookers.

Most of the internet dating women are from Russia and Ukraine because those are the two places in the world with LOADS of beautiful single women who want to find a mate. I've been all over the world and nowhere is quite like those places. You can cruise the bars there and be outnumbered 3 to 1 women to men in any random city. Its like an alternate universe. If you think because they are on a website and you are American that they will come to marry you, then you are just another clueless dude without any chance of marrying one successfully.

On the other hand sleaze exists everywhere, and online hoes come from all "western" countries.

Prostitution is illegal in Ukraine, However it is the worlds oldest profession and there is probably no country in the world where it does not exist.
If a Ukrainian girl gets caught by the authorities being involved. then her parents will get a letter stating that if she is caught again then she will be prosecuted.
Do understand that Ukraine is no second world country, but there are areas that are not as affluent as kiev for instance.
These days genuine girls are not really looking for foreign husbands so that they can move abroad or obtain a visa for places such as America.It may have been the case years ago but not today.
SIngle American men do not understand this,due to ignorance, so they become victims of east european dating agencies ( mostly run by americans ).
Do understand that there are many Russian and Ukrainian women who are very successful in there own countries and have no wish to Live in America.

um...u're confused big time...they're not actual "mail order brides"...wut u, Americans, call "mail order bride" is actually women who set up profiles on a special dating agency websites to meet men from other countries instead of their own, with intentions to move to their future to be husband's country by marrying them.

these agencies require a paid membership, bc besides providing the profile on the web, they also help set up the meetings too.

so a girl sets up a profile w/ her picture and her info, a guy from another country looks at it, messages her, if she decides she likes him, the agency sets up a meeting for them. if they hit it off, they exchange the info and start taking the relationship further, of course. both girl and the guy have the same intentions, the girl wants to move to a different country, which is why she's looking for a husband elsewhere, and the guy wants a wife from another country than his own to bring home with him. same thing as ehormony.com does, except u can find people only in USA.

about girls on webcams, it's just like any other sl*ts in any other country, it's just porn, u got ur hotlines for some sexy talk, or webs where u pay to see them naked on cam.

so webcam girls and so called "mail order brides" have nothing in common. also, prostitution is everywhere too.

ps. those women don't get "ordered" as some idiots might say, if they don't like the guy and don't want to move to a certain country, they pick another guy, so it's not all up to men, it's up to the woman, whether she likes him or not. and women don't only go for Americans, they meet men from different countries, some end up in America, some in Canada, wherever they wanna go...

No way I was lucky to move to America and not have to deal with all this but alot of my family lives there and they say people are very desperate there living there. It is hard to leave there and compared to my family that lives in Ukraine i live like a rich person. Its hard to leave Russia and get into America so these women who are so desperate will do anything even use their looks to get a better life. I feel bad for those women and for all effected by that.

If you lived in a place where the birth rates of women were consistently higher than men, and the life expectancy was consistently lower for men, would you sit at home single all your life because there were too many women for the number of men? The online dating from Russia and Ukraine is regulated by a comprehensive law named IMBRA which is designed to protect such ladies from exploitation. To immigrate and marry, both the man and woman have to go thru a background check, must prove a PRIOR relationship before the lady travels to America, and the majority of applicants are rejected for various reasons. The idea that someone can "order a bride" in the mail is funny, even silly, but not true. The couple must establish a relationship in her country (the man must spend time in her country with her) and go thru the IMBRA regulations and the background checks before they can even think about her traveling to America.

Stripping on line? That's prostitution but a guy would be a fool to try to pick a wife from a line up of strippers. On the normal Russian bride sites you won't find many strippers. You'll have to look elsewhere for those.

They move for a better quality of life in the west as getting married to a westerner means they don't have to work while still having financial security on a level that is rare in Russia. And no there is no such thing as a legal sex trade industry. That makes no sense. The statistics about Russian women outnumbering men by so much are true. Just go to your local embassy and I guarantee you will never see more then one Russian man.

Yes, the janitor at my high school "ordered" one and they got married. She was from the Ukraine.

Personally man, I wouldn't do. I hear they are really expensive and you will regret it when she leaves you for your friend with a better job.
