Does anyone else here HATE Ryanair and why?

I travel quite a bit with business and for pleasure and have developed an absolute hatred for this airline.

Only a few things that are really starting to grate:

Priority boarding then complete pandemonium when trying to get on the damn plane

Abolished reclining seats & rubbish holders to 'save'

Nonexistent service

Screwing you over every lasy penny - granted the flights are usually cheap but you more than make up for it when you've bought a £1.50 cup of water and needed 6 weeks of stress therapy.

Unprofessionalism of giggling strewardesses (usually the ugliest girls you'll ever see or some overly attentive camp fella)

i could go on all day..

Does anyone share my feelings and if so why?

when i flew with them we had to wait 1:30 hours at check in gate while they did about 10 LAST CALLS! when they were ready to board they realised the plane hadnt arrived!!!!wew had to wait another hour for that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes. Their priority boarding is a farce. The uniforms look washed out and horrible. The lack of a 'pocket' on the back of the seats drives me nuts as you don't have anywhere to put your things. But the worst is that you now have to pay to check in baggage which is just more encouragement for idiots to bring ridculously large bags into the cabin. This is made worse by the fact that you can't combine luggage between people in the same party (eg if you 2 people take 1 bag that weighs 25kg, they won't let you add together your individual limits of 20kg but will make you pay for the extra 5kg - tight bastards).

Good points are that you can now check in online. And the price of course.

I prefer Easyjet to Ryanair any day. Much more organised, comfortable and friendly.

they seem very inflexible when dealing with people

They removed my hand luggage from the plane before take off without telling me because someone had knocked it out of the overhead locker and someone else thought it looked suspicious on the floor. Upon arrival at our destination no hand luggage. Stewardess said "Oh, I wondered whose hand luggage that was". Stewardess suggested I wait at the airport and they would put on next flight. Like I 'v got time to hang around airports for hours waiting for luggage that may never arrive. Once home found it impossible to talk to an intelligent person at Ryanair. They advised me they have no lost property department. What a great service.
I also agree about the priority boarding shambles. Unless you push in you are unlikely to board as a priority passenger as the process is not managed at all by the Ryanair staff.
If the weight of your luggage is slightly over you will have to get out of line and pay your penalty at a different desk where you may be kept waiting as in my case for half an hour by indifferent staff. Then get back in line to check your luggage in again.
The customer comes second at Ryanair.

my partner and I flew Ryanair to Girona in January and shared baggage. we flew back to Girona in March, with shared baggage, and were charged £48 even though we were 10kgs under the weight limit for two people. The reason was simply that we had "not read the small print" over a change in regulations. This was in the very small print. However they had put, in large print, please arrive early due to possible delays". The delays were caused by many others who had not read the "small print" and were queing to pay for excess baggage charges even though they were underweight. The couple ahead of us did not have a credit card, and cash was not acceptable. When they were told that their baggage would be removed from the flight we stepped in and paid on our credit card in exchange for cash. They were going on their honeymoon!
A letter og complaint to Ryanair was finally answered, after 2 months and two more letters- their reply was basically "You should have read the small print!"
We have vowed never to fly Ryanair again, which means 12 trips a year that they have lost!

Ryanair- FCK, the only thing missing is U!

I have never flown a Ryanair flight that was not delayed.
They are often more expensive than other airlines.
They leave you in the middle of nowhere.
They charged five pounds sterling for water in the middle of the security scare in London where people could not bring liquid on board.

If there is a choice, even if sometimes it is more expensive, I will always choose the airline that is not Ryanair.

?
I don't particularly like Ryan-air - ( or easy jet ) although their prices can be considerably lower than BA, BMi etc.. Their pricing system and dates when you can fly are sometimes a wee bit too confusing for a Blonde like me - But !! Michael O'Leary give him credit - he turned up at the Airports to kick up ***** with the authorities about the way the Latest Terror alert was being handled..

Ryanair in many ways get away with murder because they are generally the only people flying their routes - if I want to fly to Pau, I don't have much choice.

But if you do have a choice, go easyJet any day. They do care, and are only a tiny bit more expensive, by the time you have added on Ryanair's hidden charges....
