Yes, Greece was a monarchy until 1967, when the then king Constantine, was overthrown by the military junta (which was supported by you guess who...the "freedom fighters of the world").
Constantine, along with his wife Anna Maria and their 2 children were exiled to Italy where they still live today.
BTW any bitterness you sense by Greeks to foreign powers stems from the fact (among others) that they (foreign powers) supported a very oppressive military junta that reigned Greece for 7 miserable years before democracy was restored again and has been there ever since |

Yes. The last king was the brother of Sofia of Spain |

until 1974 it was a constitutional monarchy when with a plebicite the Greek people opted for the current form of government |

Swenson gave you the correct answer. We had monarchy until 33 years ago between some intervals of...chaos and between the wars. The name of the monarchs was Glyxbourg (1863-1974). |

Of course everybody knows that. Greece used to have a King until the junta tossed him away. Then in 1974, when the junta was brought down, people of Greece decided to have a Republic. They now have a president, a prime minister etc.
The former king lives in exile in UK. Also Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburg (husband of Queen Elizabeth II, is of Greek origin). |

There was a monarchy imposed to Greece by foreign powers, when Greece became independent. Then we had the Bavarian king Otto imposed to us, we sent him away, and then another dynasty from Denmark was imposed to us, that we also sent away. |

No, Greece in its entirety was not a monarchy. It was a confederal government overall, allowing each city-state to do what it chose. Athens was a democracy while Sparta was a monarchy. |

Just about any european country you could point at was a monarchy at some point in the past, if not as a single nation, it was split up as several monarchies, or parts of different monarchies. |

Totally Blunt

I also know that he was of the royal European lineage (I forget the family. Habsburgs?) and planted there by European powers. Never understood how that can happen. It's a good thing a fake royalty is gone. |
