Back to your question, yes, the Turkish government denies it. The reason is because A. the numbers don't add up correctly. Armenians claim that over a million were killed, and yet there weren't that many Armenians living in Turkey at the time of when they say this occurred (WWI).

Secondly, the Armenian government never addressed this problem after WWI, and into the 20's, 30s, 40s, 50s, you get my drift...they didn't even mention there was a genocide until about the 70s or 80s. If it was such a tragic event and they wanted money from the Turkish government to make up for what happened, I don't understand why they couldn't say there was a genocide after it happened. The Armenian government only brought up genocide after the government realized how well off the Turkish government was doing and wanted a share of their money since Turkey was doing better than Armenia, economic wise.

My third and final reason before I bore you to death is the fact that it was a war. In times of war there are going to be people killed on both sides of the argument regardless. To say that the Turkish government had time to mass murder a million Armenians WHILE fighting an epic war is absurd.

Now, before I get the the thumbs down, I'd also like to address the fact that my belief on the Armenian genocide has no effect on my opinion of Armenians in general. I love all people, including Armenians. It's just the Armenian government that I don't like. People are entitled to their opinions and it's ok if they disagree or agree with me.

We are also tired of 100 years of Armenian trolling. Their policy is, kill first, complain later. Who will apologize and pay reparations for the millions of Turkish lives lost during the disintegration of the Ottoman Empire? I know! The colonialists that provoked Armenians!

1. Over 1 million Armenians DIDNOT die! That's the biggest lie of Armenians and isnot suported by historical documents.

2. Those lands werenot Armenian lands. Armenian population didn't exceed 60% in the most densely Armenian populated Ottoman town. Even Erivan consisted of mainly Muslims but noone wants to to talk about what happened to those.

3. "All foreign forces" were there to create puppet states (like Iraq now) out of Ottoman lands. They supported ethnic cleansing to Turks (around 4,5 million in all) in all ex-Ottoman lands, incuding Middle East, Greece and the Balkans. It would be foolish to expect unbiased opinions from them, don't you think?

genocide term is big word for small ppl.

according to british sources about demographic of anatolia at first years of 1900's armenian population was about 1,8 million.

1. what is the claim? 1,5 armenian died, with litte logic if it is true then armenians r rabbit if u kill %90 of ppl u ll destroy all family structure families ll sperate, husbands wifes kids ll die, Explain me how anatolian armenians r living all over world today. 1 million in usa, 500.000 in france 300.000 in syria and lebanon etc..

3.The International Court of Justice is the primary judicial organ of the United Nations. This is only authoritative about war criminals, genocides etc. Why Armenia hasnt sued to Turkey yet???? prepare ur proofs, ur documents and sue! if there is genocide court ll decide. why armenia only play on political area(vote blackmail, novels, wikipedia)? Explain why?

P.S. it was not genocide, of course ppl died, it is not important they were armenian Turkish kurdish just ppl died but genocide big word for it.

And also if u want to learn what i am thinking as a Turkish. If someone kills my wife my kid or anyone from my family. just see what i ll do! and after that call whatever u want(genocide, mass murder, revenge etc.) i wont even care and i wont be regret.

Yes the Turkish government denies the Armenian view on the supposed genocide.As do alot of other western nations and authors.

You cannot "deny" something that never have happened. You can only reject an aspersion,which Turkish government is already doing.

Edit: No you are not asking a question,you are falsely blaming a nation.If you were there to ask a decent question you'd try to learn the facts and not put that ignorant label "why-oh-why they deny".

Well honestly ...i live here in turkey and have done for the past 6 months...ive listened to both sides and i know its an extremley sensitive issue we are dealing with . the facts are over a million armenians died and from what reports ive seen etc. the people in power at the time did want to get rid of the armenians ( im not saying that the turkish people commited a genocide but it seems to me that the existing government did) ..anyway the result is that kurdish people in many cases occupy the former armenian land andcall it their own ..saying it was theirs for centuries..seems a bit wrong.
also as a NEUTURAL it seems strange that all foreign sources at the time seem to describe a mass murder of armenians and death camps in syria etc etc and also assyrians .. my mind is open to be changed .but from what ive seen so far ..it looks bad

oh and please people..dont thumb me down because you blindly believe what either of your governments say..thats extreame nationalism. just think and please give me a well structured response . thankyou

Were the documents forged ? or were they created by colonial powers to support an agenda?
so ....was it more like the whole middle east was a massive mess and everybody was killing eachother as opposed to one group in particular being targeted ?
where can i read about the 4.5 million turks who died.. it would be interesting to read..as generally history books in australia and ireland where i have spent most of my school only mention the christians who died

im not trying to offend anyone ..i would like to see some unbiased evidence proving OR disproving it though
