HI I am from Malta. When you are driving in Malta your points won't add up. Malta is a very small island and to travel from one place to another it only takes a few minutes. Buses in Malta are not so efficient as in the UK but they are very cheap. I think you should use the local transport. The hassle in Malta is that it is difficult to find parking space especially In Bugibba, Sliema and ST Julians. |

The points will be on your green counterpoint licence and most places overseas only look at the pink drivercard. Driving in Malta is interesting. While officially they drive on the left, my experience is that most Maltese drive on the shady side of the street. Have fun. |

When you see the traffic in Valetta, you won't want to hire a car!!! Seriously, the bus service is excellent & cheap. |

No, as long as you have a valid driver's license (even then, they won't easily find out) your points don't carry over, especially if you're hiring a car.
Have fun! |

Why do you even WANT to rent a car in Malta? It's an ISLAND and you can easily cover it on a motor scooter |

Hi, I live in Malta too, you should be able to hire a car without problems, the public busses are not very reliable, but parking is a huge problem over here, they also drive like maniacs!! |

I wouldn't recommend driving in Malta they are the second worse drivers in Europe!(that's a fact). its better by bus and a lot cheaper. Malta is a small island so getting to places doesn't take you very long.Enjoy and if you do drive be careful of the men drivers! they are very sexiest out there! |

After spending alot of time in Malta I would advise driving defencively. You will soon develop the Maltese Twitch (you'll understand this after you have driven there for a couple of days). Other rules include:- last one on the roundabout is a sissy and only give way to things bigger than you. Also, do not go up any steep hills with Hotlips, the dung lorry in front of you - oh, and stay away from an evil bus called Perkins!!
Joking aside, alot of the island can be got to by bus but it is easier if you hire a car - especially to some of the sandy coves - Ghajn Tuffeina, Armier and Gnejna Bay are much easier to get to by car. It is not worth taking the car if you're going to Valletta or Sliema - it is hell finding anywhere to park! |

no it wont affect you /but to take your point of 34 in a 30 limit they give you a benefit of 36 in a 30 zone if roads are safe so ask about it and see if you were convicted erroneously |
