As long as he doesn't support Hamas, I'd want him to take a stand against Israeli aggression. But I have question marks in my head about storming out too. I'm neither proud or upset. I'll just watch coming events after this. |

I don't know if Turks are proud for him, but somebody SHOULD do this!
So, I'm happy that SOMEBODY dared to 'through' it to Perez face and it is better that this person is a Muslim himself (he is more 'connected' to the victims and the region).

I'm not Turk but believe me it was a big blow to Israeli and company (USA) . it was very much extra ordinary and very much unexpected action by the sleeping Muslim rulers around the world.
I would describe it as a wake up call for other Muslim leaders and it is like the first drop of the rain. |

Totally Blunt

Yeah, we found him especially from the Texas of our country, i.e. Kasımpaşa, so that he can dress down all world leaders without regard to good manners, diplomatic courtesy and strategy.
There is no end to the pride we feel.
And I'm sure kristina is thinking of the Turks massacred by Armenians in Eastern Anatolia before critisizing Turkey,
because that would be what a non-hyprocritical person would be doing. |

Well, if I had to choose between two leaders; one trying to fit his actions to diplomatic courtesy so hard that he cannot do anything about the issue and other one tries to make a speech against israel and is not allowed to speak thus storms off.... I would proudly choose the second one.. |

I am not Turkish or Muslim, but well done to Erdogan.
Maybe it wasnt so politically correct but what he said was absolutely right.FInally someone had the courage to stand up against israel.
Its not Greece;s leader to say that I am proud of ,but I m really happy to see that someone acted this way... |

*dodo* Palestinian and PROUD!!
|
Erdogan is a very good man..... he is the only one that actually has a little dignity and cared for the palestinians..... it wasnt fair that they let the israeli guy talk for 25 min and Erdogan didnt get half that time!!! he did the right thing..... and him doing that does not at all make him a suporter of Hamas... and even if he was.... Hamas is NOT a terrorist group.... they are fighting for their land that israel stole 60 years ago..... and anything they do...they have the right to do it... cuz its all for the sake of palestine.... |
|

Türkiye

yes of course! he did the right thing! they weren't trying to let him talk because they had to go to dinner, how stupid! |

It's funny how ignorant people say 'he's trying to gain votes for the upcoming elections' because simply there aren't any national elections coming up so people need to step outside their box. The elections that are approaching are state elections where a party is elected for each state which has nothing to do with what erdogan did because these people vote on whoever has done best for the development of their state and rural areas.
Secondly, Yes i am proud of what he did and i believe he is a great example of how a humanitarian, peace loving, brave prime minister should be. He called the people in Gaza 'Kardeslerimiz' (Our brothers and sisters) although turkey is not Arab, neither is it a neighbour of Gaza it definitely displays brotherhood. He also started a charity campaign for Gaza. |
|

WTF?
 |
We are Muslims and we defend Muslims. |
|

no name
|
i mean i do not understand what his strategy is a part from gaining a few more votes in the up coming elections and he really did it in a very rude way i must say it had very little to do with diplomatic manners... |
|

Are you talkin' to me?
 |
He's a Hamas supporter, nothing else. Nothing to be proud of. |

I'm very disturbed about it. He should have found a more political approach. He should have found a way to finish his speech and making the moderator hush up in a polite way, he should have been sarcastic but polite toward Perez, but he shouldn't have said ' Davos is finished for me'. No, I'm not proud. Once Winston Churchill had said that England did not have friends or enemies , only its benefits. I'm sorry for the Palestinians too, but I can also see Israel's approach. I'd rather have Erdogan think about our benefits first and then him defending others' benefits. I think he is isolating us while trying to defend others. |

I do not support what Israel is doing in Gaza, BUT it is so hypocritical of Turkey to accuse Israel of mass killings when Turkey has so many skeletons in its closet regarding the genocide of the Armenians, the murders and bombings of the Kurds, the occupation of Cyprus....Before Erdogan accuses others he should look back into the Turkish history first.
Assuming that Turkey was not guilty of the same crimes against its neighbors...I must say that Erdogan did a good job, BUT let's not forget that it might just be a show for the upcoming elections in Turkey. |
