European Currency?

I am traveling to Europe this summer and it is my first time visiting. I will be visiting the U.K., San Sebastion (Spain), and the south of France. I need to know if I can use Euros in all of these places and I also need to know the Euro equivalent of 1000 U.S. dollars. Any and all information is appreciated. Thanks! Also, what is the legal drinking age,( I'll be turning 18 over there and here its 21)?
Additional Details
If you have any advice thats not related to my question I would appreciate that also.

Some places in the UK will take Euro but you will not get a good rate you need good old £'s and lots of them.
Euro is the currency in France and Spain and in all three 18 is the drinking age.
How ever not many places will ask for ID if you look old enough you will usually get served.
You have an interesting group of places to visit and i am sure you will have a great time.

The following will give you things to do in San Sebastion Donostia

You can use Euro in San Sebastian and in France. The airport in the UK might take euro but if staying there you need sterling pounds. The US dollar is similar in value to the Euro. There is a slight difference. The drinking age in all 3 places is 18. Just remember that when drinking in the plane that 1 alcoholic drink in the air is equal to three on the ground. Have a good time.

18 is the limit but thats stupid. Nobody asks for your ID when Youre buying alcohol (only in big supermarkets ). UK waaaaay too expensive, spain is the best, france the pretiest girls but you need money also. Stay away from exotic drinks and moroccans in spain. Euros are only in EU and UK is not in EU. Englishmen do not like to be as the rest of Europe so it would be better to change Your money to pounds when in UK. Suggest You visit Italy, Croatia, Paris, Prague and so on. There are cheap flights, so U can fly from UK to lets say Croatia for about 50 dollars. Greetings

My advice for any first time visitor to Europe: Watch your belongings at all times. Store your documents and most of your money at the hotel's safe and only take along what you need for the day. You can get a copy of your passport notorized or something and use that in place of the real one in most places.
I'm usually very conscious of my surroundings and I spent my first day in Paris filing a report for a stolen wallet. ;)

Just a friend.
You cannot use Euros in the UK, you have to use British Pounds.

$1000 US dollars is equal to 745 Euros, however that is the exact exchange rate. If you exchange actual dollars for Euros at your hotel or an exchange booth, you will only get about 670 Euros for $1000. The best way to get money is with your bank ATM card, that way you will get about 740 Euros...huge difference.

The same would go for British Pounds, $1000 will get you about 500GBP. However that is not the rate you will actually get exchanging real money, you would get about 450GBP. However if you use your ATM card to get your Pounds, you will end up with about 495GBP. It pays to get your money in country.

At 18 you will be able to drink in all those countries, however not at 17 years old in England.

english pounds for england and euros for the rest of western europe 1000usd = 750 euro
yup can get drunk age 18 in the whole of europe (even younger in places)

u use british pound in the UK, and euros in spain and france. if you go anywhere else make sure they use euros because here in denmark we use the danish kroner even though we are jpart of the EU....however they will except the euro.

you will get less money when u exchange because the pound and euro are worth a little less then the dollar. no tmuch though. and if you plan on using only 1,000 dollars for this vacationin all those jplaces you will run out of money. that is not enough. I am american too. the best thing is to have a atm card, visa, or credit card.

You cannot use the euro in the UK. Our currency is pound sterling. You can exchange euro (note plural of euro is euro) for pounds of course within the UK and some outlets in the UK will even accept euro, but the latter will charge you exorbitant commission.

Can ask me about how to "do" the UK in only a few days if you like. If you want to visit Edinburgh, I can even let you a room

$1000,00 is aprox 500.00 english pounds

Yes you can use the Euro in all thos places. Currently 1,000 US Dollars is 744 Euro. Its just depends on the current exchange rate for that day.
AS for the drinking age the United States is the only place where it 21 and over.

Hope that helps.
