Although I starred you question by mistake, I still can not see the point of the question. You are trying to prove that Americans know the Europe and the World in general?
A small percentage of them may do know but if I judge by your funny President who still doesn't know where is front and where is back, most don't know and they dont bother to learn.
What is more, about half of US population comes from this damn continent and although some are only second generation they don't know their father's land.
I don't know all the States, and I have no motivation to learn them since apart from a few relatives there I have not connection to make me want too. However, on an off-hand count, I think I can name 20-25 . |

I don't really care what 'they' think. The fact they know who we are says a lot. Most Europeans who say that Americans are stupid or ignorant of the world around them are just jealous of our success.
