Fatih Terim? |
I had the opportunity to see the game Turkey - Portugal live in Geneva.
Although Portugal is one of the best teams in the world, you will agree with me that Turkish football is better than what we have seen on Saturday. Neither the Turkish people nor the Turkish football players have deserved what happened.
IMO there is one person to blame for this: Fatih Terim
After having seen that game, I seriously hope that Turkey loses the remaining 2 games. I think this is the best thing to happen for Turkish football because if this happens, we can really hope that Turkey can get rid of Fatih Terim.
I know that this is a bit tough but one thing is for sure: Fatih Terim must go!!!

Fatih Terim is the most successful trainer in Turkish football history. I am proud of calling him an Emperor. The lost game is not totally his fault. The players have the major part in that. So, he deserves all the credit and respect for the rest of his life. I like to use this opportunity to thank him for UEFA Cup 2000. En buyuk CimBom, Imparator Terim!!! |

i agree with you no doubt.that was not turkish football on saturday.
within the first 10 mins of that game when portugal were EASILY playing long balls behind our defence i knew it was gonna be a hard night.
the tactics were bad,but i understand his reasons for them.terim likes to play attacking football,but going all out attack on portugal would not work,as they attack BETTER.there is no question about that.the turkish players looked nervous,and uneasy with the system.
after i watched germany lastnight,i realised how bad turkey were and why they will not win or maybe make it out of the group.everything germany had,speed,quick passing,strenght,will,efficient movement,players supporting each other down the flanks and through the middle with one touch football,all these things were missing from turkey against portugal.
terim put emre as a deep lying midfielder,and altintop at right back...
altintop got forward on 2 occassions and danced round portugals defenders and shrugged them of with ease...what the hell was he doing at right back?!
balta,servet,and auriello were top players that night,aswell as volkan for making sure it wasnt 5-0.
i grew sick and tired of watching tuncay suffer on the wing,where he would hold up the ball and then lose it,i got sick of melvut for doing nothing,and kazim richards for only being in the team cos he was born in england and he scored a goal against chelsea.
do not hope turkey lose ok? we didnt make it to the last 2 competitions and losing 3 games will be depressing.porutgal is out of the way,we got the swiss and a not very good czech side left,and i think if he corrects his mistakes,the quarter final awaits. |
