There are lots of cool place to visit. If you want to see big and beautiful city you should go to Ä°stanbul. You can see lots of historical places and natural beauty. (oh also night life is very good in Ä°stanbul.
If you want to go to beach and sea you should go to Fethiye and visit Olympus and Butterfly valley. |

Istanbul is of course a major city and exotically wonderful with the massive and beautiful blue mosque, Topkapi and the bazaar. Other places I enjoyed were Efes ( not sure of spelling) which is near Kusadasi. Its the best preserved classical ruins anywhere. Really, a whole city preserved. For sun and fun I like the area around Bodrum. Bodrum itself is a pleasant sea-side resort city of medium size. Plenty to see and do, but I enjoyed staying in a small hotel in Bitez which is not too far away. The hotel, Hotel Okalyptus, is small and very beautiful with pool and beach. Very cozy, very friendly and helpful staff who all spoke good English as well as several other languages. In the village are a few small travel agencies where you just pop in and they offer all sorts of little day trips which they arrange for taxi or escort or whatever you need. We took a trip to Pammukale and one to Bodrum city and another to a famous market and on a rainy day a trip to a big resort to use the spa and Turkish Hammam. My daughter recently stayed at a 5-star resort also near Bodrum called Kadikale Resort which she said was great for the whole family. We all love Turkey for holidays. |
