France, Germany, Spain or Italy? |
I've been given the option to carry on my studies at university abroad. And the guy said that I can either choose France, Germany, Spain or Italy. Now I'm 18 and I have a 4 year old son who hasn't started school yet, do you think it would be a good time? And where would you personally choose? |

France would be a wise option
French is an important language, after all.
But keep in mind that not all cities in France are as awesome as Paris. Apart from Paris, Strasbourg is nice, too. And the southern part, like Marseilles, Nice and Cannes. But if the city you'll be living is somewhere other than Paris, I'm telling you, it will be boring.
Spain and Italy are fun countries. People are very friendly. They like children. If you're studying on art history, architecture or something related with art, than choose Italy. |

Germany and France are wonderful!
but you should choose the country that has the best childcare program. |

Italy and Spain are very child-friendly, and your child will probably learn to speak whatever language he/she's plonked down in in a matter of days .... |

From personal experience the Italians and Spanish love children. Italy has wonderful culture and a certain outlook on life.
As for education, I couldnt comment, go with your heart. |

I would say Germany or Spain, from personal experience, as they are cheap to live in and have good childcare facilities. The people are lovely too. |

Definately France. Language is great, food is brilliant. Been to all of them Paris is especially good. Although the rest are great places, Don't miss out on France! |

Depends on your priorities. Italy or Spain would probably be best for your son because mediterranean peoples are always really welcoming to children.
Italy is in my opinion the most civilised and would be a really good place to spend a year abroad. On the other hand, Spanish is more of a world language and might be of more long term use to you (and to your son, because he will pick up quite a bit of it while he is there).
Whichever you choose, go for it. It will be a great experience for you and for your son. |

France- The people are rude and they hate Americans, and they are not afraid to show it, never mind the BO is just repugnant. The French don't smile, and they don't smile when talking to a perfect stranger.
Germany- Experience new things, have fun and relax.Vibrant cities with amazing architecture, fabulous shopping and pulsating nightlife. Enchanting medieval villages and traditional wine villages with friendly festivals and regional specialities. Picturesque countryside which is perfect for walking or simply relaxing in. Castles, palaces and abbeys that are the epitome of German romanticism. Fun & sport, wellness & relaxation. A land of a thousand possibilities. The people are friendly and helpful.
Italy- Warm friendly people but most of the cities are very dirty.
Europe's kinky over-the-knee boot has it all: popes, painters, polenta, paramours, poets, political puerility and potentates. Its dreamy light and sumptuous landscapes seem made for romance, and its three millennia of history, culture and cuisine seduces just about everyone.
Spain-If you want to settle in Spain either long or short term then you have to have drive, determination and patience. The hot weather may be a major attraction to you - don't move for this reason alone. The sun is nice for a while but if you need to work in it to survive, its not quite so attractive. If you are one of those who like everything done straight away then Spain is not for you. Be prepared for a slower lifestyle where things take a little longer to get done. Living in Spain is not a holiday in any way. Still convinced that you want to move ? Then read on and do it ! Assuming you have cleared up any mess and tied up loose ends in your own country you are almost ready to move. Beware very expensive! |
