Do you speak either language? If so, I'd choose that country, if not, which would you prefer to learn? If you speak both, which country holds the most appeal for you? They both have a lot of history to offer. I've never been to either one myself, and would someday like to visit both. If you're really on the fence, flip a coin or ask your 'magic 8 ball', either country would probably be a rewarding experience. |

Each country's culture, history, language, and the actual location where you'll be staying are different. Whatever we say on Y/A will be like asking us to flip a coin for you based on what we like.
Why not look at the map and see what region you'll like be staying, and then read up on the above points. You'll know easily enough which appeals to you more and you'll have a reason to go there. Have fun! |

Try somewhere like Strasbourg in France, as it's close to the border and you could travel and get the best of both! |

I personally would go to France, but I grew up speaking the language (still do) and it would allow me to better appreciate my dad's side of the family.
Mind you I don't despise Germany like my grandma did (she lived in France during both world wars) but IDK it'd be weird eh? |

Well, you should do some research about each country and their culture. You may like one's history more than the other, but you'll be living in the present, so make sure you're familiar with traditions and such.
You'll find that the two are really quite similar in respects that they are completely different to the United States and you'll notices the differences between home and Europe more than between European countries. Europe is very well connected, and depending on how long you stay, you'll probably end up going to one of the other countries.
I personally would choose France, as I love its culture and I find its history fascinating, but I also adore Germany (was in both this last summer). It will be an awesome experience no matter where you go! |

I'd definitely go to Germany. There's so much history and culture.. I'm not saying France doesn't have those two things, but I consider Germany's to be more interesting. |

France. Easy choice. So much weird stuff goes on in Germany. People get locked in cellars and forced to live there. Seriously avoid Germany |

I'd say Germany is better. A lot cleaner, and the people are friendlier. Plus a little less costly than France. |

Germany.
Although I may be a bit biased on that one, since I've never been to France. But Germany is wonderful. =) |
