get stoned and laid will probably be the most popular answer. But there`s plenty more to do there, try the Rembrant or Van Gough museum, or the Heiniken brewery where you get free samples, there`s a sex museum on Damstraat which is quite interesting, rent a bike for the day or just enjoy the cafes and bars . |

But what a lot of people go there for red light district, waky backy just made me dislike the place, So we got a train and went to a big theme park about an hour away much better for the kids I think |

There are tons of things to do! Get extremely stoned, take a canal trip, visit the Van Gogh museum, Anne frank museum, sex museum, watch a live sex show, visit a prostitute, get very lost in the maze of streets, visit the dungeons, Heinekin museum, go see Ajax play.
Have a fantastic time! |

aside from the more exotic attractions (it is worth at least a walk around the red light district if you can ignore the drunken stag parties) there is the Ann Frank house, the Van Gogh museum is brilliant get an audio guide and track his life through his paintings, the Rijksmuseum is known as one of the best in the world, Rembrant's house, take a trip on a canal boat. If you are feeling dry there is the Heineken Brewery, entry is about 5 euro and you get free beer. Den Haag is about an hour away on the train and you can visit the royal palace and sit in a cafe by the beach. Make sure you take some time to just wander by the canals, sit in a street cafe, we really enjoyed a picnic in Vondelpark, you may catch a free concert. Have a good trip! |

Without knowing your age etc difficult to say. I would say though that the things my partner and I really enjoyed were
the Van Gogh art musuem, the planetarium (small but good) and some of the saunas (genuine and classy saunas) such as the Art deco sauna. It is no clothing permitted but a stylish place and brilliant for relaxing and unwinding.
The Amstel tour and a few of the pubs to drink dutch beer to finish off the night are great. Enjoy your trip! |

It has been eight years since my travels to Amsterdam but what great memories. You will have fun what ever you do!
I was in Bruges or Brugge, Belgium, depending if you are French or Netherland, in September and would highly recommend traveling south to this fantastic city. Bruges is called: 'the Venice of the North'. This medieval city is one of Belgium's crown jewels. In no other European city the feel and the look of medieval times are as present as here in this city close to the North Sea. In addition, Belgium is now known for the best beer in Europe and you can find them all in Bruges. I recommend Chimay with the blue label or Strafford! It is a couple of hours train ride south of Amsterdam and worth the trip and stay. |
