Hi me too, except I am returning to Turkey in 6 wks not three. The temp is approx 38 in the main, rising at times to 40! Yes 40.

Take plenty of sun cream, LOL.

The food in Turkey is very nice, there is lots of meat, BBQ style on hotplates in the open. You can see Doners being made in the towns, in pittas if you want.
In the restaurants, its anything you would find anywhere. Peppered steak, fish (whole) sea food, chicken. Really you name it.

One thing I reccomend, is the Turkish pizza. They are called Pide. They are the BEST thing, you will fall in love with the pide!

The turkish men who work in the bars like you to come in for a meal, and if you say you will, its nice to actually keep the promise, for one they will ask every night why you didnt, and for two, they get paid for bringing folk in. They are a very friendly bunch, and its honest. They love the kids, if you have any, its sincere, dont be put off. Its not just a sales patter!

me too, but not marmaris...get ready for some serious heat, if you burn easily you will need a high factor.

food in turkey is lovely, you really will be able to get anything you fancy. they traditionally eat lots of chicken, casseroles and fish, everything seems to be served with a bit of rice and salad with some chips.

turkey is great ive been going for years, it is like the best bits of the spanish isles and the greek isles rolled into one. hope you have a great time

Been to Marmaris for the last 5 years. If you are going self catering catch a dolmus to the town centre and go to tansash the local Tesco/Asda and get your shopping. If you are taking your mobile whilst at tansash go to the phone shop near the exit and ask for a TURKCELL sim card. You need to take your passport they will photostat it and give it you back. And use your phone as normal it is far cheaper. If your phone is locked they will unlock it for free...Beautiful place you will go back

Food is good, the weather is very hot normally and this year has been hotter than usual so be careful out in the sun.

Oh boy are you in for the holiday of a lifetime!!!! Do not listen to anyone who tells you the place is dirty or the people horrid! They are the most lovely friendly people in the world and will do anything to help you!. As for the climate well. take plenty of high factor! It can get very hot there! We've been going for many years and the climate climbs every year but there are "Comfortable" times in the day which give you time to recover(always helped by a pint of the famous EFES) Food is absolutly fantastic with a range which you could die for. They cater for everyone there and whatever you fancy you can get in Marmaris! Even Heinz beans if you wish! Nothing cannot be found there and everything is freshly cooked! We have NEVER had an upset tummy (Apart from self inflicted drinking probs ha ha) But seriously. go and have a lovely time ! You will be going back year after year to this beautiful country once you have seen it ffor yourself!. ENJOY!!!Take loads of money and go barter in the markets! It is the best experience in the world with loads of "Fake" products but you will never tell the difference! Some are better made than the real thing believe me!

Never been, but heard it is red hot!!! An if you come from UK anything is better than here at the moment, it's just rain, rain, rain!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm going there the next week. My grandma lives there, and she says that it's bloody hot. About 36-37 degrees C. The sea in Icmeler is cleaner and colder than Marmaris. (you won't be disappointed if you go to "Can Café" in Icmeler: friendly staff, reasonable priced food and a fabulous scenery)

You can also find anything you want in supermarkets like Migros and Tansas.

I'm sure you'll love "Lahmacun" (or Turkish Pizza as you say)

Its to hot for me, and all thoses bugs

The food is excellent and the sun is always shining. At times it can get pretty hot...about 90 or more degrees Fahrenheit. Have a fun trip! :-)
