Iove is the stronger, we wouldn't be here if it was the other way round.
Although love can cause hate in defense and jealously etc.
I bet your all loved more than your hated. and likewise you love more people than you hate.
It would be a dull aggressive life it was the other way round.

to tell you the truth thses 2 feelings are so closed. many times we wonder if they are the same..Have you seen when we say''i hate this person''but in reality, we are burning for him/her?

If what you mean by power is the effect they produce on people, then I'd say love is more powerful because you would die for someone you love but you would not die in order to hurt or kill someone you hate (*)

Hate and love are the 2 sides of the same coin and each is hidden within the other.

Mamma li Turchi: Your statements are rather strong: Survival = successful reproduction. Biologists appreciate the survival potential of an organism by its ability to successfully reproduce (give offspring). As long as there is no offspring, you (or anyone) have not survived at all (!).

An old saying: "There is only one step between love and hate"... I guess it means both feelings are equally strong.

everything negative is more powerful in world, don't you believe?!
for positive things we have to struggle a lot, do a lot of work but the negative side always can easily come over it.
you always do a lot of work to make something but it is destroyed easily!
hate is more powerful, and can be separated and get even more powerful very easily!
for keeping something in right track you always have to try a lot and do a lot of work, but its just enough to leave it on own, then it can get worse and worse by itself!

But...
answering hate by love is the only way to overcome it.

The survival instinct first, the instinct for reproduction second.

So, if the hate is about survival, I'd say it's more powerful than love (reproduction).
