Great places to visit in Europe? |
My friends and I, all about 17 and 18, are planning a trip to Europe this summer.
We have no idea where we should go, we want somewhere with awesome nighlife, but also things to do during the day like some sightseeing and good culture.
Also maybe somewhere with some beaches but thats not that important.
Needs to be somewhere relatively cheap, we'd be flying from London. Additional Details Oh and also, we dont want to go to Spain! Just FYI! |

Well if you want culture, hot weather, nice beaches, then it has to be Italy....there is more culture than you can shake a stick at in Rome and Florence....lovely scenery, delicious food, that would be my advice anyway. |

Berlin is absolutely brilliant- if you've never been you'll find it's completely not what you expected. Excellent bars and clubs, and loads to do during the day. Get yourself a cheap flight with easyjet or ryanair and you're sorted :-) |

Portugal.
For these reasons:
1 - it's a small but a great country (the oldest of Europe!)
2 - peaceful: we don't have bombs, terrorists and guns (only police) - Here, christians, muslims and jews are united against war (believe me!) (for some reason, we are a country for almost 900 years!)
3 - beautiful and nice people (not arrogant like the spanish: we speak english, and even people who don't, try to speak!), 4 - brilliant food (and incredibly cheap!)
5 - amazing beaches and a fantastic cultural life (crazy nightlife also!!!)
6 - very cheap prices (for european standards)
7 - the light, the sky, the sun - they're amazing! you won't see like those in the rest of the world!
8 - This is for you: Portugal isn't Spain... (although we're neighbours) |

You say don't want Spain, but Barcelona is amazing - beach parties at midnight, great food, amazing architecture, mountains nearby, super shopping and groovy locals who speak good English if you're nice to them. |

Go with José’s advice. But more specifically: Go to the Algarve from London (check Kayak.com for cheapest flight).
{Please bear in mind that the Algarve is much more than Albufeira!}
Also, the price is right compared to other places in Europe!
Investigate Praia da Rocha near Portimão.
An awesome vibrant place with lovey beach, sea and river views, huge variety of restaurants and bars (5 or 6 classy ones on the beach itself!), and with lots of outings to nearby cultural places of interest.
Great alround holiday atmosphere! |

Awesome nightlife 24 hours is Mykonos.Day and night have great parties on the beach and in the clubs. But is little bit expensive there.
Cyprus is beautiful on the summer and also have great nightlife and beaches ( i recommend you to go in Paphos or Agia Napa) Is much more cheaper than Mykonos! |

Why not Spain???
It's a beautiful country...has everything you ask for. Just stay away from the Costa del Sol. Too built up.
Portugal is nice, too. Greece. Can't beat Greece. Someone suggested Malta. Not a bad idea. How about Dalmatia (I think that's in Croatia, somewhere on that coast).
Is the Italian coast still inexpensive?
There are so many possibilities.
Just be careful...don't get too wild, and it doesn't really matter where you go, you'll probably have a blast! |

Hi
Why don't you try Malta - fantastic beaches, loads of sightseeing and for your ages Paceville in the evenings - bars, clubs you name it - it is there.
Enjoy. |

Go to Italy, visit Rome, Florence, Venice, Verona, Bologna etc.
Italy has all you want, beaches and awesome culture and some great nightlife.
Head over to http://www.skyscanner.net to find cheap flights from the UK to Italy. You might have to fly to Paris, stay for a night and then fly to Italy though - not that this is a loss.
In Italy I suggest you stay at http://www.plusvillages.com/ - very good value, cheapest place to stay at in both Venice and Florence. If you pack camping cooking gear and buy food from the supermarket your trip will be cheap. In Italy it is also cheap to travel around by train - you won't need a railpass there.
Note that at the current exchange rate you should bring at least 75 USD per day and person.
For places to stay I can also suggest you check out couchsurfing.org |
