Greeks and people who enter the greek section? |
It is just a simple question, if you are satisfied of our section, if they information given about Greece are enough, how do you find the users and if people who answer to you are kind enough..
This is just a question to see your point of you, even for the people who complain about us.We are here to improve even if there is a problem, and to listen your opinion..Dont begin reporting, it is a survey.
We are here to be friends with all, and to say that in this site we dont have anything to solve between us, just to make peace in all senses.. |

Merhaba Leonarda,
Almost all of you are very supportive, gentle and kind people who try to help even with the unnecessary questions and requests. Your brother even bothered to give me information regarding some political issues about Greece via e-mail since I didn't want to ask it here and ''stick my nose into other peoples businesses ''.
I am getting to know Dimitri personally and he is a true gentleman with a big heart. Also Tolia who is also supportive in our section just like you and Angelo. Sorry for the others that didn't mention.
There is only one or two Greek people whom I don't appreciate the words and the attitude towards my nation but - oh well- exceptions doesn't effect the rule :) I prefer to ignore them.
Thanks for all the kindness and support. |

i sometimes ask questions in Greek section about Greece or Cyprus
unfortunately i came across with some racist people who are pathetic and ignorant
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ak8iIvX.oMhi1XBh7VVbayfty6IX?qid=20070609071052AAWFb7j
but generally you, edoardo, tolia and hard&tender gave me very reliable info, and you are very friendly too
I'm very happy with the fact that i have such good friends.
but i know these people are everywhere, also in Turkish section. i think best way is to ignore them, not to answer them
regards from Turkey |

Hi Leonarda,
I think that the Greek section is not very "active" and the questions are sometimes boring, as Edorado said. But it's up to us to make it interesting.
The answerers are not always polite. I don't have a problem with different opinions, on the contrary, differentiation is the only way to creation.
Being polite, however, makes an answer more persuasive and valuable. |

Hey Maria, this is a very good question (request). It is people like you that make me come here often. I like learning about Greece. I sometimes answer questions about Cyprus. There are one or two people who insult me because I am a Turkish Cypriot. But I don't mind it. They have to learn. I find Greek people very close to me. We have similar cultures. I think they are very friendly people. Hope I can visit some day. |

No, I prefer the Italian and the Turkish sections, not because of the greek users, who are always kind and eager to help, but because the questions there are more interesting...I wish we had interesting questions in the greek section too...
BUT: Greek answerers begun to know each other and already establish contacts and new friendships, and that's pretty cool....
HI: Missy and Ipek, we love you.

Good question! Well, I believe Greece is an amazingly great country in culture and many other things, so pretending to summarise all that information in a section is quite difficult. However, people like you and other frequent answerers here, try to show the world how beautiful is Greece and how much we have to learn about it. Personally, I have learnt many things here that I completely ignored before. We do our best to make this section a very good one.
About the people who have answered my questions, well, in general they have been very nice; always kind and helpful. I still remember how Takis went beyond just answering his question and offered me his help through e-mail. That’s really kind!
I think we have a pretty nice Greece-section community. Let’s keep up that work! |

I live in Belgium, and since 1992, I visit Greece several times a year, every year. Since I discovered 'Answers', I found quite some helpfull hints on my questions, and I tried to help out some people with answers based on my experience as a longtime visitor. I do not visit other sections, so I can not compair.
So yes, it is a good section, as long as people keep considering it to be a 'travel' section, and not political one.

The Greek section is ok but a bit boring cause theres not much going on. One question every like what? 6 hours?
I prefer sections as "polls and surveys", "jokes" etc. At least its more fun there! |

I am satisfied with this section
and I'm happy too that it even exists
I was trying to find a section like this in Yahoo! Answers until I saw this one.
I like it when Greeks and people who like us come together and this is a way to expand our horizons and pass our knowledge to non Greeks. And a way to acquire knowledge from other cultures and civilizations.
That's what people from different counties should do instead
of fighting each other for who's better.
Isn't the point of this site to exchange opinions anyway?
It doesn't matter if some aren't kind enough to us as long as we can do something to change their opinion or even tell them what we think about what they say. |

Generally speaking everybody is very friendly but ofcourse you can see many pathetic and ignorant people in every section, especially in Turkey section trying to provoke . |

Γενικά καλό αλλά λίγο.
There is some genuine help given here. True you can get answers from Google etc but they miss the personal contact flavoured always by a personal point of view. It is a bit sad however that not many people are interested in Greece or for that matter most of the east Mediterranean countries. The majority of people here are either mainland Greeks or of the diaspora. We need to spread out more, create interest in the magical lands of the Eastern Mediterranean. Παν μέτρον άριστον |

The great majority of answers given here with respect to Greece are accurate but honestly most questions asked in this section can be answered within 5 sec if one wishes to Google the keywords...
Same people answer always most questions, thereby tilting the site towards their preferences...For instance, Rhodes is an issue here-joking but still..:)
Anyway, it gets people interested in a country that I really love. But most importantly it brings people together... And that's all that matters at the end...
Take care! |
