I think and pray for the day that the GREECE/Travel section will be free from the trolls. Will such a day ever come?

I can't say it better than the real heros of that time.
You should all read Makrygiannis Memoirs. He learned how to read and write, in the age of 33, so he could write down/record, on his own what exactly happend.
And if you give 5 minutes of your time to read just a few lines from it, you'll see how the simplicity, yet sincere/blunt way of writing, will hook you in a sec.

This day STRONGLY reminds me of an abstract from the 'Great Exodos' of 'Axion Esti', Elytis' poem.

'Τις ημέρες εκείνες έκαναν σύναξη μυστική τα παιδιά και λάβανε την
απόφαση, επειδή τα κακά μαντάτα πλήθαιναν στην πρωτεύουσα, να
βγουν έξω σε δρόμους και σε πλατείες, με το μόνο πράγμα που τους
είχε απομείνει: μια παλάμη τόπο κάτω από τ' ανοιχτό πουκάμισο, με
τις μαύρες τρίχες και το σταυρουδάκι του ήλιου.
Και επειδή σίμωνε η μέρα που το Γένος είχε συνήθειο να γιορτά-
ζει τον άλλο Σηκωμό, τη μέρα πάλι εκείνη ορίσανε για την Έξοδο.

I hope I could provide a translation!
This part of the poem is refered to the Nazi occupation but it clearly states the revolutionary, crazy and almost always agaist odds way that Greeks like to act. It sometimes has results, this is what our nation is.

And also this song, Ena to helidoni again from Axion Esti. It represents, I think, our country like a national anthem.
